As a fan I'd ***** a brick if the Bills waited until their 3rd pick to grab a WR, but I think you'll agree this draft represents a workable restocking of the interior lines (cutting Morse in favor of someone who might be even better already, and adding 2 specimens at DT), while still adding two legitimate receiver prospects. Part of me wants to do it to have a backup and give them a year before they get rid of Morse. Part of me wants to draft one of the first 2-3 guys to replace Morse right away. Not sure how realistic it is. I still have Franklin and Legette graded slightly higher than him but the consensus has Thomas ahead of both and he certainly fits my criteria of a dynamic outside receiver for Josh. 60 - T'Vondre Sweat, Defensive Tackle, Texas Sweat is a starting 1 tech pretty early in my view and when I watched him I was surprised at how much push he gets in his pass rush for a big guy. I'm not totally sold he is their type and this may be a bit of a low hanging fruit pick but I don't tend to love where the board leaves you as the Bills at the back end of round two. 99 - Jonah Elliss, Edge, Utah Elliss is a little undersized but he has NFL pedigree and he was productive in college. He has a good get off and I think he just finds a way to affect the passer. He is probably a situational pass rusher as a rookie and the Bills would probably want him to add some bulk which I think his frame will take, but is probably needed if he is going to have any impact against the run on early downs. 128 - Tykee Smith, Safety, Georgia Smith lacks a little speed but he can play deep, can hit in the box and he can come up and cover slot guys too. Getting Thomas at 28, filling holes at DT, DE, and S with good young players who can start now or next year, and then coming back to WR and still landing a good one in Baker. In the second round, the best receiver was a TE, so I took him. Later in the draft there was a better player at a position of need than WR. Not liking this too much, but overall the draft is solid, I feel that it solidifies the D and OL, and offers a receiver and secondary help where necessary. He’s a great player put doesn’t address the boundary/deep tall bodied receiver we need. However… if you’re getting Legette, Nugent, Hicks and Ruke then I’d say that draft is an absolute home run. mrags Posted February 19 Share Posted February 19 Just curious. Am I the only one here that just restarts the draft if the first 3 picks aren’t Williams, Maye, and MHJ? I refuse to believe that any one of those 3 teams will take anyone but one of those 3. And nobody is trading up for anyone else in the top 3. I occasionally get Wash, Chi, or the Pats taking a OLmen or even Bowers there.
