I enjoy mock drafts as much as the next guy, and I'm guilty of running about seven thousand mock draft simulations each offseason myself, but...

These simulators are often horribly inaccurate in terms of realistic outcomes, particularly this early in the offseason. I often see mock drafts that have less chance of happening than I have of going home with Scarlett Johannson tonight.

Of course … I agree that it’s early days and things will change a lot …but I see them as a tool that shows what might be available in the mid rounds if the players expected to be drafted early come off the board …

Even then I wouldn’t look at the specific guy … but are there several players I like available at the position ?

For instance … Safety at Rounds 3-4 … couple of guys left there I think have some upside and we know that Babich and McDermott can coach safeties up… therefore unless one of the top 2 prospects is available at 60… Im all for looking for another position with their second round pick

Trying to “outwit” the  algorithm by getting it to agree to unrealistic trades ain’t exactly my bag… but if people like that then all good 👍

I accepted one admitted wacko trade - 28 for 32, 64, 124, & 209

32- Mitchell - WR (Tex/UGA)

60 - Nubin - S (Min)

64 - Maason Smith - DL (LSU)

99 - Brenden Rice - WR (USC)

124 - Adisa Isaac - Edge (PSU)

128 - Tykee Smith - S (Go Dawgs)

158 - Chau Smith-Wade - CB (Wash St)

161 - Javon Foster - OT (Mizz)

197 - Jaylin Simpson - CB (AUB)

201 - Jordan Jefferson - DL (LSU)

205 - Daijun Edwards - RB (Go Dawgs)

209 - Trevor Keegan - G/C (Mich)

245 - Edefuan Ulofoshio - LB (Wash)

Admittedly, I tended to look at players I watched this season (SEC, CFP Teams), also at starters from winning programs

I would have liked to get a developmental QB, but didn't see one I liked enough to draft.  I also wanted Rosemy-Jacksaint but he went earlier than expected.

I love the 2 WRs and 2 Safeties.  Rice and Mitchell give us size and speed.  Also the 2 safeties will be our starters in 2025 at the latest.  I don't think people realize how good Tykee Smith is.   The two CB should give us immediate depth and I can see Simpson especially surprising people.  He reminds me of Taron Johnson.  RB Edwards could be the steal of this draft board.

Agreed.  That’s why I usually only do a handful a year
