Love Bowers, he’s just a huge WR. The question would become if he was drafted is does he take away from King Cade’s role…?

They’d have to be used in a similar fashion, which wouldn’t be a bad thing. Might be a problem with the contract, love and track record for Dawson Knox.

Polk is an intriguing prospect and very similar to Brenden Rice. Would be a decent combo to select. Would rather they do something different with that first pick though if it ended up unfolding that way.

I'm loving Ja'lynn Polk!! He reminds me of Michael Thomas. Another player I'm liking later in the draft is Mohamed Kamara. His motor doesn't stop until the whistle. Would love to see these two in Bills uniforms next season

Kamara disappointed me a bit at the Shrine Bowl. He was one of the guys I was really interested in from that game but despite a couple of flashes he underwhelmed both in practices from reports and then in the game. With his smaller stature he really is probably reliant on being drafted as a sub package edge rusher because he will struggle to hold up against the run, but against that level of competition I wanted to see him dominate, and he didn't. I think for the Bills he'd be off my board. Maybe more in a 3-4 scheme where he can come in and rush from a two point stance on obvious passing downs I'd still consider him worth a shot. But the Shrine Bowl was a chance to really boost his draft stock and it was a chance he failed to take IMO.

I love the PFN one but their rankings right now seem pretty outdated in my view. Franklin being ranked 42 overall when most other places have him between 20-30 is telling. I also see a ton of safeties going in early round 3 (like 5-6 usually between picks 73-88) which seems incorrect as well. Maason Smith outside of the top-100 is a pipe dream: he’s not lasting past pick 75 in my eyes.

Fanspeak seems to have some issues refreshing the page or making me start over sometimes mid-draft, but I feel like those updated rankings are somewhat closer to reality, at least as far as the top-100 to 150 are concerned. Then again, those are user created and may not be very reflective of reality depending on which board you elect to use. Also, no trades without premium is no bueno. That’s where PFN is better, so long as you only take realistic compensation.

does anyone else get ole miss vibes back when aj brown, kc metcalf, and dawson knox came out with LSU this year?  it feels to me like their 1 and 2 wr's both look like they have a shot to be a number 1 in the nfl.

maybe im wrong, i dunno.

I'm assuming the Bills cut Morse, and use his cap savings on the Defensive side of the ball:

28. Adonai Mitchell WR Texas

60. Sedrick Van Pran C Georgia

99. Mason Smith DT LSU

128. Javon Baker WR UCF

I'm perplexed by the amount of Day 2 RB picks you've been making. I'm not against Drafting a RB. But I'm against spending Day 1 or Day 2 picks on a devalued position, when we have a Top 5, Pro Bowl Back in house as our Starter already. You don't spend a 2nd Round Pick on a 2nd RB.

@Einstein shared started a thread yesterday based on this chart:

Guess how many other teams spent THREE top 3-round picks on RB over the past five years. (The answer is of course zero. Only the Bills have invested that many valuable picks in the RB position recently.) Suggests that the Bills could maybe chill on a RB until day three.

Fascinating info down the board shared here:

If you don't have a solid Starter, Rounds 2 & 3 are the way to go. You don't want to spend a lot of money on the RB position or use a 1st.

We went with Singletary in Round 3 in 2019. He didn't wow us his Rookie season. So when Moss fell the following year and was good value, we figured between the two of them - we're going to be completely set. One of them was bound to develop into a stud. Unfortunately, Moss impressed even less.

We gave it the years of 2020 and 2021 hoping at least one of Singletary and Moss would step up. But neither surpassed being anything but average to halfway decent. So we traded down in Round 2 of 2022 a couple times, picked up some more picks to mitigate the cost of trying again and picked up James Cook.

Luckily, it seems we've finally hit on one. Now that we have, you're just looking for a change of pace back. Preferably a Bruiser. That's not a role you spend anything higher than Round 4 on. Preferably, Round 5.

Had to give up my 4th rounder next year but that was after I traded back with Cleveland and picked up an extra 2nd and 3rd. We’re set at WR for the next 5+ years. Should take Allen all the way through his prime. Also set at DT for a while. Found Hyde’s replacement. And picked up some bodies to throw at backup CB, OL, and DE.

I like that you waited until Round 4 before doubling down.

PFN's ranking of Franklin is way off though. Every other simulator and mock has it 50/50 he's even on the board at 28. If he's on the board at 56 in reality, something catastrophic has happened in the Pre-Draft process. I'd love Franklin and Sweat Round 1 and Round 2 though. It's ideal.

I'm down on the idea of Drafting 3 WR's though. That would make 4 of our 6 WR's having a combined zero reps of Regular Season experience. It could go great, or it could go terribly. I think there's little to no chance they don't bring in a mid tier vet in FA, whether anyone likes that idea or not. 2/3 of our WR's being Rookies (or essentially a Rookie in Shorter's case) seems too risky for how carefully this regime operates, IMO.

I fully expect them to sign a vet WR to bring in and still might draft 3. They clearly know they have a need for WR. They are getting one early in hopes they could be our future #1 and push Diggs to #2. They need depth, and the 3rd option is just insurance in case one of the other 2 doesn’t work out. It’s only because this draft is so deep. The possibility of getting 3 good WRs and potentially being set up for years to come. Have to take advantage of it. I get that the chances of it happening are not likely. But if it was me this is what I’d do. I don’t expect The Bills to do it. Hell, I really have doubts they will take a WR in the first rd because McDermotts NEED for defensive players.

In terms of spending they are better off going after defensive FAs. There’s a host of talent in that pool and likely the best course to correct problems as they have experience.

Save the draft for offense unless guys who are just to talented to pass.

Need a DT and Safety that have youth badly so I won’t be disappointed if they ***** some up in the draft like your mock suggests.
