UConn James Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Anyone just see that FG miss in Pittsburg by Boswell. Ooof. His plant foot took out like a 12" swath of dirt and went 4" deep. The middle of the field looks like it has 4 blades of grass per square foot; otherwise just soft sand. Broadcasters said they were told earlier that the sod is scheduled to be replaced after this game. It's only mid-October and it's like some took a rototiller to it. Hope our turf holds up better than this and wondering what if anything will be different. Real grass in Buffalo will be an experiment. Quote
TFBillsfan Posted October 12 Posted October 12 I wonder how much revenue the Bills will bring in once they start selling items from the current stadium? The turf, the seats, etc. Someone will probably even buy the men’s troughs! Quote

The heating and drainage of our field is state of the art, built from the ground up - I imagine it is a step above theirs. Also AI says having to share with U of Pitt causes issues Quote Overuse and frequent resodding: The field is used by both the Steelers and the University of Pittsburgh Panthers, and the heavy use often necessitates multiple resoddings throughout the fall. In the past, this led to a poorly draining, layered field that was prone to muddy conditions Edited October 12 by stevewin Quote

Mango Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Random thought this AM... What will the new stadium address be? 2 Bills Drive? And if it is 2BD, will @SDS have to change the website to 3 Bills Drive? These are the things I think about folks. 4 Quote

Dr Krentist Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Pretty cool. Does anyone know what that section is at 4:32? 3 Quote
Einstein Posted October 20 Posted October 20 @SoCal Deek do you remember what this area is? I don't see it in the rendering (unless its the back of the scoreboard and I dont realize it). Quote

I'm covered from the rain and hope to get a little residual heat from the concourse. 1 Quote

UConn James Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Apparently from yesterday. Grass has had its first mow, in baseball outfield diagonal pattern (it's better for the grass to mow it in different directions each time). Wondering why the right sideline is the same shade as the real grass versus the left sideline artificial turf (which is still incomplete) being so much lighter green. 🤔 1 Quote

EmotionallyUnstable Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago How do you get assigned the job “first mow of the new sod at New Highmark Stadium”? #retirementgoals Quote

I think it’s the pad underneath; looks like it is still being installed. Quote

But with the budget overruns I heard they’re installing a manually operated one……kidding. 7 minutes ago, WotAGuy said: I don’t think that lighter green is turf. That photo’s interesting because it shows the significant progress being made on the seat installation. They’re on the upper deck now. 38 minutes ago, LabattBlue said: Does anyone know…what are the sections supposed to be that appear to be walled off from the surrounding seats(the two far lower level corners in pic)? I was told that those sections are unique as they have special access to the concourse areas just behind them. You’ll notice the black shadowed slit at the rear of those seats. 1 Quote
