Hunter Biden to plead guilty to federal tax charges, strikes deal on gun charge

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, will plead guilty to two tax misdemeanors and struck a deal with federal prosecutors to resolve a felony gun charge, the Justice Department said Tuesday in court filings.

Β

As part of the plea agreement, the Justice Department has agreed to recommend a sentence of probation for the two counts of failing to pay taxes in a timely matter for the years 2017 and 2018, according to sources. Hunter Biden owed at least $100,000 in federal taxes for 2017, and at least $100,000 in 2018, but did not pay what was due to the Internal Revenue Service by the deadlines.

Β

A judge will have the final say on any sentence.

Hunter is a stooge, a rich kid from an entitled family. Β

He dodged taxes on a million + that we know of, and broke gun laws at a time when gun violence is top of mind and heads roll for exactly this sort of thing. Β

He and his father were protected by the IC when his laptop was discovered, a favor to an extraordinarily powerful and wealthy man.Β

Meanwhile, he’s β€œpainting” and being paid exorbitant figures for his work by immensely wealthy individuals and donors.

So…he abuses the system, does all the rich guy things you guys are always complaining about (when not involving a liberal), f&@&s around with firearms, avoids jail time an average person would not and is financially whole or better.

Β

Yeah, liberal justice is truly colorblind. Β You gotta wonder why all this happens repeatedly, huh?Β

Β

We’re not sentencing, nor are we negotiating plea deals. Β In fact, there are very few people involved in that part of the equation.Β
Β

We’re on the emotional

side of the ledger, where we look at information available, we figure the relative value and what it means to us, and figure how it moves us to vote/opine one way or the other.Β

Think the Russia-lusion dealio here, Chi. Β Back when Mueller said he wasn’t able to not unsay that Trump was or was not unguilty of, people applied emotion to whatever message he was trying to deliver. Β

As for gun control, well the message has been sent that it ain’t all that big a deal. Β

I think the bottom is where most of the injustice happens. Β There are many more regular people in court rooms every day than ex politicians or politicians kids. Β been a character witness a couple times. Β My wife just showed up at the trial of a part time employee that was facing big trouble for a minor offense. Β The judge listened to her and gave probation. Β The sad people I saw in court the times I've been there were really pathetic (and mostly really stupid) for the most part. Β Of course they're gonna be treated differently. Β They shouldn't be but just are. Β There are cultural considerations and questions of civil unrest re trump's trial. Β At the very top, things are different even if you are a scumbag. Β The rest of your argument is bs...

The difference is the injustices at the bottom inflict more severe punishment while the President's son gets a pass because his dad and his enforcers and bagholders are as crooked as they come.Β  Just the opposite.Β  Rationalize it all you want.Β  The FBI and DOJ are a disgrace. The Intentionally Provocative Hunter Biden Plea Deal.

Β

Biden apologists have tried to minimize that transaction as a β€œlie and try” case, which they say is often not prosecuted. But such non-prosecution (though it shouldn’t happen) occurs because of what you’d infer from the β€œtry” part β€” i.e., the liar got caught and failed to obtain the gun. Hunter’s case, to the contrary, is aΒ lie and succeedΒ case. He got the gun.

Β

What’s more, he was then seen playing with it while cavorting with an β€œescort” (see theΒ New York Post’s pictorial, if you’ve got the stomach for it).

Β

Shortly afterwards, he and his then-paramour β€” Hallie Biden, the widow of his older brother β€” managed to lose the gun near a school (it was later found by someone else).

Β

Those are the kinds of gun cases that get charged by the Justice DepartmentΒ even if the suspect hasn’t, in addition, committed tax feloniesΒ by dodging taxes on the millions of dollars he was paid, apparently for being named Biden. Yet after refusing for years to appoint a special counsel despite the five-alarm conflict of interest attendant to investigating the president’s son ( . . . and family . . . and the president himself), the Biden Justice Department is permitting Hunter Biden to dispose of the case with misdemeanor tax charges that will allow for a probation sentence, and diversion β€” essentially, no prosecution β€” on the gun felony that would result in imprisonment for most Americans who engaged in similar conduct.

Β

Quite a deal.

Β

Last week, Trump was flirting with 60 percent in GOP primary polling after being indicted, with a 45-point lead in some surveys. Democrats seem bound and determined to get him to 70.

The Hunter Biden β€˜controlled demolition’ is complete

BY JONATHAN TURLEY

Β

FTA:

Β

The key was to get Hunter to plead to a couple of minor offenses with little or no jail time. The White House and the media could then declare the scandal over and insist that there is nothing more to discuss.

Β

Of course, there is a great deal more to discuss. For critics,Β the plea agreementΒ looks like rushing to the scene of a bank robbery and giving the getaway driver a ticket for double parking.

Β

The House Oversight Committee hasΒ documentedΒ potentially millions in financial transfers from foreign sources to Biden family members. The labyrinth of LLC corporations and accounts used for the transfers seems designed to evade detection. Indeed, allegations from a trusted FBI source referenced payments that were being made to the Bidens without directly involving β€œthe big guy.” That was the name allegedly used forΒ President BidenΒ after associates insisted that no one should use his name.

Β

Attorney General Merrick Garland took the most important step in pulling off the controlled demolition by steadfastly refusing to appoint a special counsel.

Β

Such an appointment would allow the release of a report that would detail theΒ alleged corrupt practices of the Biden familyΒ and the knowledge and involvement of the president. It is the essential framing used in demolition to avoid broad blast effects.

Β

The second key is the charge. In buildings, you have to use just enough explosives to take out supports to collapse the structure in on itself. In scandals, it comes down to the criminal charges. You need an assortment of minor charges to suggest equal justice without anything large enough to cause collateral damage to others. It also has to be minor enough to get Hunter to take one for the team.

Β

Β

The Hunter plea is the perfect charge load for the scandal. He will plead to a couple of misdemeanors on tax violations without addressing how he actually made this money. The gun charge looks like a serious threat for incarceration, but it is little more than a phantom felony count under which Hunter will be allowed to go into a diversion program and ultimately negate the violation.

Trump Pardons Roger Stone, Paul Manafort And Charles Kushner

President Trump issued dozens more pardons on Wednesday evening to many wealthy and well-connected convicts with ties to his innermost circles, including former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Republican operative Roger Stone and Charles Kushner, the father-in-law of Ivanka Trump.

Β

Manafort, who was sentenced to more than seven years in prison after being convicted of bank and tax fraud in addition to other crimes, was released in May from a minimum-security federal lockup and moved to home confinement over concerns about the coronavirus.

Β

But days before Stone, who is Trump's longtime friend and political confidant, was to report to prison in July, the president commuted the 40-month prison sentence.

it’s gross, corrupt, unethical at a minimum… and yes corruption is really really hard to prosecute as a crime, especially when political operatives are careful.Β
