If the Bills release Lotulelei, they can save about $4.25 million, and if they can trade him, Buffalo can recoup $6.8 million, per Buffalo Fanatics.

Per Joe Buscaglia those numbers are incorrect. Bills would only save 1.5 million by cutting Star.

So, Harrison Phillips best friend (whoever the hell that may be and why he’s even in Buffalo) is thinking, “hmmmm, I need to vent to someone that Harry isn’t going to be a Bill next year. Let me go to this random guy and tell him I’m Harry’s best friend and show him Harry’s text messages,”

Either that or this guy is very persuasive. If he can get Phillips' BEST friend to divulge this kind of info, he can sell Colorado, ocean front property to anyone.

It's over $4M if he is designated a June 1 cut.

Thing people don't understand is that he will still have dead money next year if they keep him around and wait to cut next year..........so it's not like the problem just goes away entirely NEXT year if you just pay him "$1.5M" and keep him.     That's not how it works.

True.  But in 2023, the Bills (currently) have $52M in cap room, and would have an additional $6.35M from cutting him.

The Bills will already be borrowing heavily against future caps so they are basically working off a multi-year model in determining their CURRENT spending..........and in your scenario there is zero net savings over the 2022-2023 combined caps if you keep him this season.

If they keep him........there is an extra approx $4M cap hit though.

He has a $250K roster bonus payment due in a couple weeks........then $225K in workout bonuses for the offseason..........and then $3.5M in unguaranteed salary that fully guarantees if he makes the roster for week 1.

That's $3.75M-$4M that you have to pay him THIS year(in addition to the $2.5M that he got for re-structuring his deal in 2020)..........that $4M is not only a "cap figure" that will further reduce the cap space of those two years(as opposed to cutting him now)............ but it's also real dollars that they can save and use to re-structure other deals.

He's played 7 good games his entire career. He won't have much demand for his services. They will be drafting a DT early.

Star and a rookie will split time at NT. Hope they move on from Zimmer too. He was limited athletically even before he got hurt.

Justin Zimmer was limited athletically?

Craziest thing I've seen since Putin invaded Ukraine.

Met Harrison's best friend out in Buffalo tonight...showed texts to prove that he will not be coming back in free agency. I don't expect anyone to really believe this, but you'll just have to believe me haha. He will not be a Bill next year

Only read the 1st page,  so I can only assume this has already been said. But on the off chance it hasn't...

This sounds like COMPLETE BS. His "best friend " let some stranger read text messages about the details surrounding his FA plans.  Right. Sure. Best friends do that stuff all the time. That's what makes them the best,,,

Either you are simply a liar (my #1 guess here), or are stupid enough to actually believe some other, fairly obvious liar--then not have the sense to check your information before spreading it ( a strong #2 guess IMO).

In the very unlikely event your story is trueish, I have to assume the idiot you met is no longer Harry's "best friend".

Lol yeah like I said I don't expect anyone to believe me. But sounds like he'll be accepting another offer

I will take your word for it since it doesn't seem far fetched to me really.  And I dont really see the point to pile on you over it either like others are.  And mainly because I met Levi Wallace's 4 college best friends at the home opener as we sat next to them and we hit it off and still keep in touch on instagram.  And they have said multiple times to me that Levi loves Buffalo and that he absolutely wants to stay in Buffalo.

Of course, that doesn't mean he will, just means that is what he prefers, I am sure it still depends on what McD and Beane want, would offer, and what other teams offer...but heading into the offseason they said he wants to stay.  And I have no reason to doubt them.

So your story doesn't seem far fetched to me as its not unusual for friends of players to boast they are friends of players.  Happens all the time, not sure why so many think this is such a crazy concept.

My first question is why is Harrison’s best friend out by himself in Buffalo 🦬?  Harrison is from Nebraska and went to Stanford. So is his best friend out in a Buffalo telling people Harrison isn’t coming back? Or is Harrison’s best friend somewhere else in the World 🌎 telling people Harrison’s intentions? This is totally made up. Pretty weird to say the least. 😂😂😂

Not saying this is true or not...but I am sure he has a Buffalo best friend, he has been there a while.  This assumption he can only have a best friend elsewhere is a silly assumption.

I’ll wait and see how it plays out.

This is true for every rumor this time of year.   From my point of view, it's a pretty boring time of year.  I'll get interested about a guy when he actually signs with the Bills or actually leaves the Bills by getting cut, getting traded, or signing with another team.  The only exception is if the Bills are in the hunt for a serious talent, like being one of three teams with a shot at Mario Williams, stuff like that.

In his podcast, Buscaglia said the numbers from one site were incorrect, and that the Bills had shuffled $2.5 million during a restructuring.

And that Bills will only save $1.5 million off Stars cap # (around 8.3 million i think) by cutting him now or after June 1.

This is silly. But i don’t think Phillips will be back. If you pay him you cut into the Oliver fund. They get the same, if bot better production out of Zimmer for a fraction of the price. I like Phillips, but it really depends on the numbers.

Conversations and rumblings happen at the combine and he may already know his price.
