Collinsworth was almost impossible to listen to.

It's not just Bills' games.  The guy is terrible every week.   Rather than do actual research on the teams or players he sounds like he takes incorrect national narratives and proliferates them as truth.  I don't watch the entire broadcast every week, but I catch a good portion of the SNF broadcasts and I catch myself wondering what the heck he is yammering on about a lot.

Last night was agonizing to listen to.   Just so much hyperbole and foolishness.   There are a lot of bad commentators but its the smugness in his delivery that makes it that much worse.

After years of losing Bills fans have become accustomed to Collinsworth giving props to the better team........which of course, usually wasn't the Bills.   There were tons of examples of Bills ball-washing as well.   He actually said that the game in Buffalo last year decided home field.    The Chiefs were 14-1 and the Bills were 12-3 going into meaningless finales.   Do the math.  Don't hear anyone complaining about that though.

He gave Buffalo plenty of props,  deserved or otherwise.

As for fans of other teams roasting him........do we have a thread on here every week about Collinsworth?    The answer is no.   That says it all.   Fans only scrutinize this ***** if it's their team or some team they are rooting against.   There are a lot of people rooting against the Chiefs now because they've had home field advantage for 3 straight playoffs and been to the last two SB's.  That's the way it works.

No, respectfully disagree, and wrong again.  I get what you are saying, but Collnsworth is constantly hated on Social Media for being biased.  We maybe didn't realize it as much as we did last night for obvious reasons of being bad for so long, but my god he was bad.  Collinsworth is absolutely hated by many teams and their fanbases for this type of "color analysis".  And to make things even worse, the guy that almost nobody has a problem with, Al Michaels, is the one getting the boot next year, and not Collinsworth.

We don't have a thread on here, probably because then you'd have a thread about Collinsworth and 400 other people who get mad because people actually make football threads on a football message board about football.

There was no doubt he was biased last night.  Al Michaels was even uncomfortably presenting another side because he realized it.  He even prefaced it once with something like......"albeit to Buffalo fans, they have an argument".......  I'm personally not mad if Collinsworth likes the Chiefs better, or talks more about the Chiefs.  But last night was absolutely ridiculous.  He's a national guy that is supposed to be somewhat impartial and objective.  And although color is subjective, he was so one sided last night, in a game that was absolutely one sided the other way than his viewpoint, that he sounded like an idiot.

Of course he said a few good things about the Bills.  How could anyone not last night?   But overall, he was god awful.  And on most weeks, he regularly gets roasted by some fanbases for being that way.  Last night, we got a taste of it.  I could care less what he thinks, but there is no other way around the fact that viewers have to tune in to hear the game....... or you have to listen to a delayed broadcast or nothing at all.  None of which are good options.

Get Drew Brees on the broadcast.  It's already so painfully obvious that a guy like Brees would be so much better and more knowledgeable.  Time for a change.  Collinsworth has lived a charmed life.  Let the new, and more informed, people take over.  Everyone wins that way.

CC was the reason ball gags were invented.

First of all.........TWO threads about Collinsworth?   Really?

And when he commended Klein for drilling Mahomes close to the sideline was that anti-Bills too?

It's comical watching people complain about officiating and perceived slights from talking heads.    How valuable is the play-by-play?   If you hate it, turn it off.

Lotta' ingracious winners on the board this am.

SNF has been my favorite broadcast and Collinsorth is usually knowledgeable and doesnt slurp mediocre players for no reason like some bad announcers do. But he was pretty awful and biased yesterday, and he generally looks old this year, feel like hes losing it a bit. He certainly gave ammo to his haters.

Collinsworth follows the Jon Gruden School of Commentary, in which everything he focuses on can only be described with superlatives.  "Oh my, he is sooo good.  How can you stop that?"  This is how he speaks for the entire game about everyone and everything.

He is supposed to be a commentator on the game, not a salesman for the game.  There is no distinguishable barrier between Collinsworth the individual commentator and Collinsworth the business entity that profits from the success of NFL football in general.

Everything becomes great, awesome, incredible, and it's all false and disingenuous.

I love Al Michaels.  If only they would throw out CC and replace him with Romo--you'd have the best show in TV sports.

Collinsworth while not as intolerable as a guy like Joe Buck is pretty bad in my opinion. He tends to have his favorites and his bias shows. His football knowledge isn’t bad which is why I can’t say he isn’t the worst. I do enjoy Al Michael’s and the rest of the SNF presentation.

Are you implying that Duck Dodgers isn’t better than Josh?  That defies math itself you know.

He was just wrong. We noticed that he let 2 very questionable calls against the Bills go by without any real comment, but on the roughing call, it was all "water cooler" this and "I don't know" that.

The hold just before that was probably the worst holding call I've ever seen in my life haha

This is a very good summary of collinsworth.  It drives me nuts.

Collingsworth has been like this is whole broadcasting career.  He is a ball washer. We ate his lunch when he was a player for Cincy and he can't forget it.

I'm sure that's part of it. But some of his fortune is also heavily tied to analytics being a done-and-dusted accepted field, and Josh Allen is the one that got away from them. His ascendancy has caused a disturbance in the force in that field, and there seems to be a split between those who accept that flaws are possible in any algorithmic approach, and those who are dug in and will jump on every moment to either say "told you so" when JA has a bad game, or "well it was just the other team's defense is garbage" when he does well.

Collinsworth was horrific last night.  He doesn't even attempt to be balanced in his commentary.  It got so bad Collinsworth was actually trending on Twitter for a while about how one sided his commentary was.  These weren't Bills fans, they were neutral football fans bombing Collinsworth.

He raked Josh over the coals for his intentional grounding and made it sound like Josh does that all the time.  I'll take ONE play like that, a play that fails when Josh starts to improvise if I also get to take the other FIVE amazing plays he makes running around back there like Houdini.  Case in point, the long Knox TD.  Should Allen have just thrown the ball away on that play?  That ability to extend a play is a huge part of Allen's game and is much more of a benefit than a liability for this offense.  Just another ignorant take on Collinsworth's part.

Every time the Bills failed to make a play in the second half Collinsworth had to chime in that if the Bills lose this game "this could be the moment" where it all started to slip away. It's like he was just trying to will a miraculous Mahomes comeback into existence.... just because he wanted to see it so badly.

But the Gold Medal for Collinsworth ignorance goes to his commentary on Frank Clark's roughing penalty on Allen.  Collinsworth said that in the morning everyone will be talking about that call and how it changed the game.  If you want to start arguing bad penalties in this game I'm down for that.  That roughing penalty against Clark was a hell of a lot more roughing than Oliver's roughing penalty against Mahomes.  It also was a bigger penalty than the BS holding penalty called on Morse on the play right before Clark's roughing call.  That phantom hold brought back a Josh Allen scramble for a 1st down.

Collinsworth made it sound like that roughing penalty was somehow the turning point in the entire game.  Never mind the Bills defense and special teams coming up with a +4 turnover differential, or a Mahomes Pick Six, or the Bills winning by THREE scores in Arrowhead.  It was all that bogus roughing the passer penalty in the fourth quarter of the game.  That's why the Bills won.  What a bunch of crap.

Collinsworth has no business doing national broadcasts.  He needs to take a job with the Bucs or the Chiefs so he can just call their games and b*ll wash Brady and Mahomes full time.

***EDIT:     Sorry mods, don't know how I missed the other Collinsworth thread.  Feel free to merge. ***

Yeah that was the 3rd blown call that was outrageous.  I actually think they just got the number wrong on the Mitch holding call, that someone else on our Oline line held.

There's no other explanation, Mitch barely touched anyone and they were only calling blatant stuff.

Oh, there is another explanation.  Some people just don't want to hear it.
