What vaccine is FDA approved?

All 3 of them. Come on. I'm sick of these semantic games. This is the problem with modern discourse. You can't state a simple fact without someone trying to argue it.

Be a baby and not get vaccinated?

My God.

How is Cole or any player that doesn't get vaccinated "not protecting" anyone else - the other non vaccinated have clearly made a choice and are living life accepting the risks.

The other players and personnel that would like to have near zero risk of getting it are fully vaccinated.

Why does anyone care at this point and how did the NFL and NFLPA think this was the best course of action.

I want to hear logic.  Any freaking logic.

If you want to be not vaccinated that's your right but then you have to follow the protocols in place. Cole wants it both ways he wants to not be vaccinated (Which he has a right to be) but then he doesn't want to follow the protocols in place which are there to stop a Covid spread amongst the unvaccinated and to possibly protect from variants. These protocols are designed by top doctors and not just random people's Google skills.

That's why Cole is being a baby. He has a choice take the vaccine or be subjected to the protocols. He wants to invent his third option based on his own hurt feelings. Cole has three choices, take the vaccine, don't and follow the protocols or retire. He can't force a fourth option because he wants to be lazy and not take the vaccine.

This entire thing is because he wants them to change all the rules just for him. He didn't retire, he's not retiring. He's throwing a tantrum because the bulk of player represented by the NFLPA wanted different rules and he's literally saying,

I'm going to show up and not follow the rules.

I could be wrong, but don't think anyone here would have a problem with Cole Beasley announcing he will retire because he doesn't wish to be vaccinated or to follow the rules.  I would regret it, because I think he is an AWESOME player and tough as nails.

It's saying "I want to play, but I won't follow the rules, just fine me" that is the problem.  You can't have a team where everyone gets to decide what rules they will or won't follow.

Unreal how stupid some people in this thread are.

I find it highly unlikely that any meaningful number of people (including Cole Beasley) who do not wish to take the vaccine under the current Emergency Use Authorization will take the vaccine after the FDA grants formal approval.

What an absolutely childish thing to say.

Ok, Cartman.

Childish?

The man is a multi-millionaire that wants to do his own thing.

Not hard to understand.

also this.

Ugh.........

And this is just reflective of a bigger problem at large in this country.  People have lost trust in institutions that are the bedrock of our society.

Emergency use authorization still classifies as approved. No it has not officially passed the FDA's unusually high bar for pharmaceutical approvals. It is still approved for use by the FDA.

Getting away from the semantics, I promise you Beasley has injected more dangerous things than this into his body. It is a weird line to draw in the sand.

Yes, I apologize for being much more stupid than you, but if you tell someone "you can say whatever you want, but if you say something we don't like, you will get disciplined" it gives the illusion of choice without actually giving you much choice. In this case it's "get vaccinated or not, your choice, but if you don't, you will be forced to face strict measures that you may consider unreasonable and will be constantly shamed by followers of Science (the religion) for being way dumber than they are."

You made most of that up in your own mind. So congrats.

Also, I don't accept your apology. Be smarter and stop dragging the rest of us down.

Exactly. Why are you arguing? It’s all about his choice. Get the shot, or not? Go by the protocol, or not? Play or retire? It’s ALL up to him.

Again, HIS CHOICE.

He has reached a summit where he can make his own choices and voice why.

Yeah, no vaccine and no to being told what and how he is going to live his life.

Good for him.

I can see the headlines now - "American hero who has received a dozen vaccinations in order to go to school and university refuses to get one more because of principles or something"

To be fair to Cole Beasley, he's not deciding to not be vaccinated out of laziness but because he apparently believes in God's Will and that it's preferable to get infected with an illness that has much higher rates of persistent side effects than the vaccine, even for asymptomatic or mildly ill people.

That is his right.

Otherwise, agree, he's trying to force a 4th option.  Interesting times.

So, he should just take a vaccine he does not want to take just so he can play football when money is not an issue with him?

Yeah, OK.

OR if he doesn't want to take the vaccine he can just follow the protocols in place? He has that choice.
