You are only allowed to be positive or you are a hack, know nothing, turd. Bills can only be good. No way they could have sucked and are actually good now. I remember him trashing, absolutely trashing, Terrell Owens for being a cancer in Buffalo when he had been a model citizen. I remember him in press conferences trying to lead coaches into saying things that contradicted what others had said. I remember him ripping Anthony Lynn in his very first press conference, hours or days after getting the job. I remember him being contrary just for the sake of being contrary, to the point where nothing he said had any credibility. I remember him believing that he was more important than the story. Up until Beane and McDermott, the organization was a run down Mom and Pop shop led by Ralph and Russ. Now everyone says see Sullivan was wrong, but they don’t talk about 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and so on when they were dead wrong about Edwards, Gailey, Nix, Whaley, EJ, Sammy and so on. He was on the right side of the Flutie/Johnson debate and he wrote about a team that generally was always in some form of disarray. He gave honest opinions & asked hard questions. The issue is not whether he was right or wrong, its what Shaw said. Even the fact that he has been marginalized in his new job and has little exposure like he used to, yet he still seems to cause controversy is testament to that. I dont think Sully or any Bills fan for that matter has to apologize for being cynical or negative when it comes to this team. We lived through almost 20 years of a joke organization, bad coaches and utter dreck on the field. Having a skeptical take on this franchise is just common sense. That all being said, I think he is right in this article. The Bills are a team right now that could get to the SB and with a few breaks (on any given Sunday), win it. Sully went beyond "skeptical take"s. I remember him yelling that the Bills should extend Fitzpatrick immediately and not wait when the Bills got off to a 5-2 hot start in 2011. When the contract was signed, he praised it. Then next spring he tore into the Bills for their stupidity in a premature extension. He liked to play both sides of an issue and would never acknowledge that he might have been wrong. Now he's just petty, like posting a pic of the Press Box spread framed to make it look pathetic which a bunch of other reporters immediately corrected by showing the whole picture. That was a perfect metaphore for what he'd become: framing things in the most negative light. One can be a legend in many ways. I would say Aaron Maybin is a Sports Legend in this town, but it's not for a good reason. I lived in 2 major markets and by comparison he is a mediocre writer due to that constant inability to hold a view or admit when he was way off. Its all what you have been exposed to. It’s not his current viewpoint, which I am fine with. If I wanted to complain about terrible writing and being hard on the Bills unnecessarily, I would have mentioned Bucky....
