Stevie Johnson named HC at his HS alma mater

Stevie brought a positive swag to the team and never stopped "repping" Buffalo. If you follow him on Twitter, he's a tremendous human being; he's just "different."

One of my favorite players of the drought; wasn't one of the best, but definitely one of the most likable for those that don't judge dude's based on piercings and tattoos.

I hate how they mention SF first

He was hardly a star there

But congrats Stevie ! Why so serious?

I imagine that figuratively speaking San Francisco is right around the corner from that high school.  Buffalo, on the other hand is 3,000 miles away.  The familiarity of proximity is probably a major reason why it was put that way.

A dude that made his living off non traditional play and not having a great training regimen would be a flag for me when considering a coach.... that’s not to blow up his legacy or anything. Just you normally picture the cerebral gym rat that overachieved as going into this side. Certainly not always the case and In a role like this motivation and recruitment can mean as much as anything

49ers likely mentioned first because it is a California team.  Anyone notice that every California team moved at one point?

Where did the 49ers move to?

Stevie was a good dude. Hope this aids in his happiness after the NFL. I used to love to watch him eat Revis alive every time we faced the Jets.

Meh....caught only half his targets for just over 50 YPG vs the Jets.  Not exactly a feast...

half the battle of high school football is motivating the students.  They have not had a winning record since 2010.  So 10 straight losing seasons then add an NFL WR? That will get kids to come out.  Will it help them win? IDK but it will get them in the gym.

They were playing in SF until about 5 years ago.  They built a new stadium in Santa Clara, a suburb of San Jose.  That was a move down the peninsula of about 50-60 miles. Santa Clare is Silicon Valley and is the home of Intel, Yahoo and numerous cimpanies. The stadium was built next to their practice facility in the parking lot for Great America amusement park.

Former Bills player of Stevie's era is just the man for that scenario....

Yes, we all know they built a new stadium in San Jose but they are still in the Bay Area and that's not a legit "move".  That would be like calling Jets to Stony Brook "moving the team".  It is not like "moving to Los Angeles"

He brings great insight into what makes a player lazy and what doesn't motivate them to not be.

Stevie wasn't one of the best Bills during the drought??? Really??? He was the only WR in the league who can say the consistently beat Revis in his prime yet he doesn't even make the Bill's best list during the drought? Riiiiiight...

This may be true, but at that time Revis was the best CB in the league. Stevie would have him out there on rollerskates whether he was getting the ball or not.

Because they don't support them

The 49ers have terrific support and I'm not sure where they moved from.  They were based in SF when they entered the league in 1949 when the AAFC merged with the NFL.

SD moved because of issues between ownership and local government.

Raiders moved because of issues between ownership and local government.

but, continue on...

Congratulations Stevie!

He was definitely one of the better players during the drought.  Three consecutive 1000 yard seasons on terrible Bills offenses is no small feat.

No, you stated it as a fact. Use the question mark for opinions.

We are on a message board I don't care about grammar, become an LA fan then

Well, it wasn’t a very well thought out one, I’m sorry for that.

I'm sorry that you always think you are the voice of reason

I really don't care what you think

I'm not sure that it's accurate to say that SD moved because of issues with local government alone.  Both parties acted in the hopes of funding a new stadium, but in the end government punted and there was a referendum.  If memory serves, even Rams' ownership considered helping foot the bill for a new stadium in SD.
