The "sad but true" answer? Who makes the NFL more money? A bunch of bad apples that are good at football with a team that has probably forced kids in China to work 26 hours days instead of 24 to make enough Pats gear for everyone or.... Just another guy? Protect the Shield my ass. "Shield to protect" is what they mean. His suspension is barely even a blip in the media radar and that isn't going to earn the NFL any money. It will get dragged out as long as they can before they make a decision regarding the other guys. Edited September 12, 2019 by The Wiz

Quote Reserve/Suspended Players who have been suspended by the NFL are not eligible for PUP (unless they have a pre-existing injury situation that's keeping them out of practice). Suspended players are allowed to practice during the offseason and play in preseason games. During final roster cuts, suspended players are moved to the Reserve/Suspended list and do not count against the 53-man roster limit. They are not allowed to be around NFL team facilities while being forced to train on their own, absent from their teammates and coaches. Vontaze Burfict is suspended for Weeks 1-4 and will not count toward the Bengals’ 53-man roster during that gime. He will be allowed to rejoin the Bengals on the Monday after the team’s Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Corresponding roster moves must be made for players on the Reserve/Suspended list once their suspensions are over and they’re ready to re-join their teams. OldTimeAFLGuy
54 minutes ago, I am the egg man said: This happened months ago. Seems to fly in the face of the praise heaped on McBeane in here and elsewhere for their not tolerating unsavory types. Owners, GM's and coaches will deny it as best they can but know their team, and every team, have players of questionable character, to say the least. Standing on a high horse regarding your teams players is a tough sell given the league history and often folly. But I'll still watch....I'm not that pious. ...there is absolutely no NFL consistency in these matters.....criminal cases regardless of adjudication or civil cases whether decided or pending...Goodell as judge, jury and executioner is a woeful failure in consistency.....depends on the direction of the wind IMO......and the cash cow advertisers don't seem to give a rat's azz.....just keep ponying up $$$....... PlayoffsPlease
The real question is: If Tyrel has simply hired Gregg Williams to coach someone up to do his dirty work, would the NFL be cool with it?

This is what needs to be fixed about the commissioner's exempt list. You should get credit for weeks already missed and just have to pay back your game checks for those weeks. It makes absolutely no sense that, for example, a guy could miss 8 weeks on the exempt list before getting suspended for 6 games and miss a total of 14 games for what turned out to be a 6 game violation. Not sure how this isn't already in place.

Jerome007
I am baffled that a player gets 6 games for a non-football related incident but Gronk got one, zero is done for that cheap shot against Josh in game one, etc. Makes no sense at all... This is not about having an opinion on prostitution. This is about sex trafficking. As I wrote in another thread I live a few miles from the Asian massage parlor where Kraft was going. The same people opened a massage parlor next to my office. It’s existence reflected poorly on my business, I know this by the number of comments we received from clients. The landlord choose to do nothing, after Kraft’s arrest I met with Palm Beach County Sheriff detectives, they were part of a joint task force investigating sex trafficking. What seems more likely, these women decided to migrate to the US to become prostitutes, or in order to pay off migration they were forced into prostitution? Charges against Kraft were dropped due to a technicality. The NFL still could have penalized him based on behavior detrimental to the league, they did not. As to Antonio Brown there is a reason for a trial, it is to present evidence. People, not just here, immediately jump to the conclusion that this woman is just another gold digger. Reaching this conclusion having reviewed no evidence. This is a reason that women are afraid to come forward. The NFL could suspend Brown while this plays out, to date they have not. Dodson was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend. He eventually pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor. The NFL then suspended him. Goodell and his favouritism towards Kraft and the Pats ** is obnoxious and so blatant! Kraft and Goodell both only care about the bottom line and pushing it up at all costs. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. I am leaning towards Goodell, Kraft and Brady sold their souls to the devil. I don’t know if BB did, he is what he is and doesn’t try to hide only caring about winning at all costs. Then I thought about the “Usual Suspects”, the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist. So, maybe Goodell, Kraft and Brady sold their souls to BB!? Sorry, to go off topic.
