YoloinOhio
https://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/trumaine-johnson-jordan-jenkins-1.24400874 Jenkins was “enraged” because he thought Dion Dawkins’ play, which briefly knocked him out of the game, was dirty. Jenkins said he didn’t want to sit out, so he got taped up and came back. He had plenty to say about Dawkins' chop block on the Bills’ first offensive play, and Jenkins said he threatened Buffalo’s tackle. “As I was running inside [to the locker room], all the Buffalo fans are laughing and jeering, and I was like, ‘That could have ended my career and these cats are sitting here laughing.’ While I’m inside, I’m seething, I’m thinking I want to keep playing and I heard they scored and I was [ticked] off I was inside. “I wasn’t going to sit inside. I needed new tape. I needed some tape and I was ready to roll. “That kind of play is not what you need to see. That’s real dirty. That could be career-ending. You don’t do that to guys. You don’t dive at somebody’s ankles. That’s classless. That’s some punk stuff right there.
Stank_Nasty
I love what this is turning into. he had some "kind" words for allen as well...… I hope it turns into something MEANINGFUL and a real nasty rivalry over the years to come.
HomeskillitMoorman
That's probably fair if that's how it happened, I don't know if the way he described it is exactly how it happened, but it would be dirty if it is. But if he's bringing up dirty...gotta mention Henry Anderson too. That was a punk move, for lack of being able to use other choice words.

HomeskillitMoorman
1 minute ago, Antonio said: What did he said? Jenkins didn’t hold back when describing Buffalo’s rookie quarterback in the wake of the Jets’ 27-23 win. “He can throw the ball far… maybe not accurate,” Jenkins told two reporters in the winning locker room. “I don’t really like that guy. That guy was talking trash out there. Personally, I couldn’t care less about that guy.” “He was feeling himself,” Jenkins said. “He was talking trash out there today.” “He’s a good quarterback,” Jenkins said. “He’s good on his feet. He’s a definite threat running the ball.” Those were the quotes on Allen. I don't care about that part, trash talk is part of the game.

The Jets beat the crap out of Allen all day. I was really disappointed when Edmunds had Darnold lined up for a kill shot on the game tying TD that made it 20-20 and chose not to take it. He had Darnold dead to rights and just ran past him without making any contact. It probably would have been a penalty, but the Jets defenders took every shot they could get on Allen drawing multiple flags along the way. Edmunds should have been aware of how the game was going and taken out a rival QB who now knows Edmunds won't lay him out in the future.

Super early in the game. Was baffling. From my experience, and I might be wrong, that was a botched backside scoop zone block. I teach my linemen to high low like that, but its all about timing. You want to cut the guy on the combo block once the other lineman is disengaged. I don't think it was a dirty play, I actually think it was John Miller's fault for not working to the next man. Him staying on Jenkins left Dawkins out to dry. I think it was more timing than anything.

If it was Leonard Williams running full bore at Josh Allen who is looking to make a game tying throw, does Williams go for the kill shot? I 100% think he does, and our rookie LB instead opted to audition to be a matador.

A kicker trying to making a sliding trip tackle on a position player is never going to be a popular move. I’m not surprised they gave him a cheat shot and I can’t say that I blame them. Careers are short in the NFL don’t take the chance of ending one with a cheap shot. Once you do, it’s fair game.

He pulled up on the slide tackle as soon as he went in motion. I guess it was instinctual for him but you could tell he had no intention of making contact when he started going down like the.. slowed down considerably. Don't think that merited any retaliation towards a kicker just making some instinctual soccer slip up (is it even that dangerous in football? Happens every game in soccer tackles) and not trying to connect anyway. 7 minutes ago, CommonCents said: A kicker trying to making a sliding trip tackle on a position player is never going to be a popular move. He pulled up. If he played enough soccer to instinctually slip up like that (pretty funny how he forgot what sport he was playing) soccer players don't come up short like that. Could have easily made contact if he was actually trying to go through with the slide tackle.
WideNine
Meh - Nothing to see here. Jenkins is scrappy and I don't mind that, but the Jets were laying a lot of late lumber out there yesterday and more than a few classless hits. Nothing excuses blindsiding a kicker, or all the late hits for guys that were obviously going out of bounds. Last time we played the Jets they also executed a really dangerous blind-side helmet to helmet hit on Teller. Just cannot dredge up sympathy for these guys. He just needs to stop whining. Chop blocks you just have to look out for as a defender and they are used a lot to get a guy off his feet and are only illegal if the defender is already engaged (I confess I did not see the play he was referencing). Now crack-back blocks are another story... You want to see a really dirty crack-back block... search for a video of Frank Middleton's hit on the Bills' Sam Cowart (a linebacker that I thought was on the path to being one of the better one's the Bills have ever fielded) - pro-bowl bound that year, but he was never the same after that hit, ruptured his achilles trying to get back out there in 2001 - bounced around the league for a while. Truly cost him, but he said he had no hard feelings - not sure I would have felt the same.
