PUNT750
The Bills official website stated (per Chris Brown) - - "Josh Allen played well in the game, completing 10 of 17 passes for 84 yards. " He stunk! No feel for the game, inaccurate throws, jumpy in the pocket, no quick release of the ball and certainly unable to lead the offense down the field. 1

RichVP
He seemed out of sync until the last couple drives. He started connecting with Benjamin on longer throws that unfortunately were called back. Leading to punts anyway. The pre snap penalties needed to end weeks ago. I'm more concerned with how they are still happening than a Josh Allen cover up.

Johnny Hammersticks
To me he looked today like he has much of the season. Raw and not ready. He abandons the pocket way too early, has trouble keeping his eyes upfield, and struggles with his footwork/accuracy. The situation that he was thrusts into is certainly not a good one. I remain optimistic, however, that he can develop the tools to be a good one. The kid is a competitor, and I feel strongly that he will put the work in if provided the appropriate guidance/coaching. He is not close to a finished product, obviously, but we have to roll with him now if he is healthy.
Mat68
The time Allen left the game he had more passing yards then Watson. I like Allen's competitiveness. Hes got the team competing and being competitive with the worst offensive talent in football.

The Josh Allen we see in Buffalo is the same Josh Allen from his college career. It's who he is. Why in the world would he suddenly morph into a competent QB while facing the best talent and toughest scheming working against him in his life? He will continue to have ups and downs, do a few good things and make some mistakes, but the charting of his performance level will remain about the same at mid-season, and at the end of this season as well. It will also be about the same at the beginning of next season and that's when the clock on his career will start to strike midnight. Unfortunately, McBeane will stand behind their decision and die on Josh Allen Hill, so we are not going to take another QB to jump in next season. We are looking at failed seasons this year and next, followed by regime change. This is why I'd love to dump off every veteran that we can get picks for. Try to minimize the damage and build for the future insofar as we can now.

I’m saying I think he can develop. You are writing him off after 5 weeks of his rookie season. One of us is going to be right. I’d rather it be me.

ngbills
Def trying to be positive. He has not looked good. When people say "he made some nice throws" that is setting the bar way too low. Go watch any level of football and lots of guys make some good throws. It is obviously way to early to make a final judgement on the guy. But if your being honest he is way behind many rookie qb's that are forced to start early. He actually looks a bit like Kaep in his first year or tow with less athleticism. transplantbillsfan
Well... NFL.com's Nick Shook said this in Sunday's takeaways: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000973893/article/what-we-learned-from-sundays-week-6-games There were a couple positive notes for the Bills, though: Zay Jones' touchdown catch was a nice example of a receiver winning a matchup with a well-run route. Allen continued on his slow climb toward looking more comfortable as a starting NFL quarterback (though emphasis should be placed on "slow"). I’d rather it be me. Except Goff had much better career stats in college then Allen against tougher competition. Allen is looking like the same guy that played at a lower level in college and how must evaluators predicted from him. This idea that because a 1st overall pick in the draft was able to do it, the 3rd picked QB in another draft from a small school should be able to do the same isnt a valid arguement. The Bill's front office made multiple Huge mistakes this offseason. First, if their plan was to draft the one QB in the top tier who was going to need the most polishing and work to reach the potential of his talent, they should have been bringing in the best QB coaches in the league to work with him and an OC that has experience working with developing raw QBs and making them look their best instead of a WRs coach to be his position coach and an OC from college who hasnt had success in his NFL chances so far. Next, they shouldn't have waited for everyone else to fill their QB position this offseason first, then try to get a discount on the remaining guy. They needed a good veteran QB who could help Allen in the QBs room during the week and hold down the offence until they feel Allen could take over. They would never be SB contenders with Keenum, or Smith, or Bridgewater, but at least Allen could sit and watch someone with more then 1 year and one of the worst NFL starts in history. McCaron had only slightly more experience, but at least his time on the field wasnt historically bad and he looked like he had some ability to maybe be a mediocre starter in the league. And the 3rd huge mistake was not doing anything to try and improve the offence this offseason. The best way to help your young developing QB out is to surround him with good weapons that can make plays on bad throws. Watch any other team and you see guys make tremendous catches on difficult throws. The Bill's WRs struggle to make even routine throws. Their biggest move to help him was to bring in Kerley, who they dumped after 1 week so they could make room for a backup rotational DT, and Coleman who they gave a couple weeks in training camp to show his ability and gave up on him before the season even started. Now, they wait til they have played 5 weeks, with Allen being forced into playing 4 1/2 of those games to sign a veteran QB to help mentor Allen.
