The OP is correct in stating that the Bills are completely disrespected by the officials week in week out and yet our coaches and GM and owner say nothing. The refs are inept league wide, the standard of officiating has tumbled drastically as the league has grown but one thing has stayed consistent for years. Which is the refs don't dare call garbage or miss blatant calls on the "big league" teams. The Bills on the other hand are never given the benefit of the doubt. The late and illegal double hit on Allen today showcases this disrespect. Why on earth after 6 weeks of over protecting the star QBs would they not have called the Texans for a late hit and/or a leading with the helmet hit on the Texans players?? Because they are not very good at their jobs and they have nothing to worry about if they make a mistake, after all its just lowly Buffalo. The Bills as an organization have to man up and stand up for their players. The NFL needs to be held accountable for their inept officials and maybe, just maybe if we hollered enough about the officials instead of meekly standing aside as they regularly screw up, we might actually make them think twice about some of the garbage or phantom calls or even the non calls. The missed PI on on Zay jones that was flagrant. They called holding and PI on Gaines but the PI could have been let go because the ball was thrown out of bounds. A holding call would have been easier to swallow. Putting the ball on the 1 yard line was giving the Texans the game. Or defense held, Peterman finished us off. All that said we deserved most of the calls and I say this because it keeps happening. All of the offensive alignment and procedure calls were real. This is the second week that we have had too many of these calls. Daboll needs to do much better or get players that know what to do. Same for special teams. The holding and calls on the punt team have been a problem this year and we have seen them called on multiple weeks. Again, we must be doing things wrong and getting beat. It is not uncommon for teams to submit items and situations, like the the late hit, to the NFL for review. A late hit that was not flagged is not proof of disrespect of the officials against the Bills. It's proof of a missed call/crappy officiating. Nothing more. Don't believe me? That we are still getting illegal formation penalties that teams address the first day of minicamp and teach players how to line up properly? That we go offsides on a kickoff when you cant even have a running start anymore and have to just stand there until the ball is kicked?? These are basic fundamental things that are inexcusable. Doc Brown Posted October 15, 2018 Share Posted October 15, 2018 I try to give the refs credit when they get a tough call right because every fan base thinks they're out to get their team, but yesterday's refs were atrocious. Most of the penalties against us were legitimate and our fault, but there were about four bogus calls/non calls that all broke the Texans way.
