Go Bills! my only gripe - * still no pressure from the front four on the QB, especially by the DEs *. not able to get off the field on 3rd and long (the Jets game was a outlier due to their inability at the QB position) 1 Quote
billsbackto81 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 3-0 Assured 6th straight division title. Don't see much more than that. Not trying to be a downer but nothing else thus far secures #1 seed, playoff success or SB appearance and victory. It's a great start though. Quote

If the top 4 seeds come playoff time are Buffalo, Baltimore, Chargers and Colts man I will feel good about our chances. And while Ravens are still our biggest competitor come playoff time IMHO, we basically have a 2 game lead on them assuming win tonight being up one and having the tie breaker. And if they lose it’s going to be a 3 game lead essentially. To be 3 games in and already have at least 2 game lead against what was widely expected to be our strongest competitors for the 1 seed (Baltimore and KC) with such an easy remaining schedule is pretty great. I honestly think we could have the 1 seed locked up by end of week 15 and the road to the SB is going to have to go through Buffalo. Quote

While I'd still back the Bills to win the division and therefore be in the playoffs, I don't expect them to be in the mix to win 14 games or more in 2026. So this is the opening. Fitting with the last year of the stadium. 1 Quote

BuffaloBaumer Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I think Chargers will end up 14-3, that is the record Buffalo will need to beat for the #1 seed. 1 Quote

They are shaping up as the strongest competition by far for the 1 seed. As much as everyone wants to see the Chiefs buried further behind in the AFC West, I was rooting for the Broncos to pull that game out yesterday. The Chargers appear to be a very legitimate threat. I'd like to see them take an L soon as they seem to be gaining confidence with each passing week. Quote

Fitting with the last year of the stadium. Yup - And not only fitting with the new stadium - but Josh is the reigning MVP, Josh is a newlywed, Marv just turned 100, etc. Would literally be a storybook ending in a number of ways. And quite honestly, this is probably the best roster top to bottom (especially considering depth) we have had in the Allen era. Its not perfect, but I can't think of another season where the overall Bills roster would be classified as better since Allen came into the NFL. There has been a lot of concern about the D, but its giving up 15 ppg since the week 1 dog walking they took through 3 1/2 quarters, and that has been without its #1 draft pick, Ed Oliver, Milano and our 2 suspended players who are better than I think some people think. Of course, it has just been the Jets and Miami, and they have still had their moments of crapping the bed (like on 3rd down too many times against Miami), but thats again been without several key starters and players. And the Bills schedule should give this unit plenty of opportunities to gel, gain confidence, and grow as a unit without too many concerning games. Bosa is playing like the guy we have been missing in the postseason that just needs to help facilitate one more stop in that final game to get over the hump. And quite frankly, so has rookie DT Walker. If our front 7 can get stronger as we get healthy and get guys back from suspension, its going to make life easier on our weakest group, the safeties. And while its just been Jets and Miami, Cole has at least shown some signs of hope. Still a long ways to go, but maybe as the unit gets stronger and gels more his development will keep increasing. PoundingDog Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I have a different take on the how it is so far so good for the Bills. It has nothing to do with Chiefs, Chargers, etc. We won all the games. That's what really counts. We have flaws, especially on defense that even the players can see. That means you are motivated to look for improvement. Unlike some years of the past we started season scoring at will while shutting people out at the same time. Human nature says just do what you are doing with no incentives to seek new heights (and often not look hard the underneath problems that became a bigger issue later on). We are nowhere near full strength and a lot of unsettled areas --- pointing to D-Line, CB2, even safety etc. Some major evaluation needs to happen in the bye week. To me, Eagles, Indys, maybe the Chargers are ready to play the superbowl NOW. The thing is superbowl is NOT going to be played right now and we learned the lesson the past few seasons. Quote

May Day 10 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 The worst thing is the Chargers are looking a little scary. The "good" column: Houston looks terrible and were a team who I thought would be an absolute menace in the weak division and with a rookie QB contract KC is 1-2 and doesnt look all that great. Has a number of tough games coming up. Cincinnati/Burrow injury. Bad Karma to call this "good", its unfortunate, but Cincinnati hates the Bills for whatever reason and always wants to kill them Patriots underperforming expectations Jets/Dolphins stinky A number of "tough" games on the schedule looking a few degrees more "gettable": Atlanta, Houston, Cincinnati, KC, maybe even Philly (although that is much later). 1 Quote
Doc Brown Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I said it was a three way race in the AFC entering the season. The Chargers are now in the chat so it'll come down to Bills, Ravens, Chiefs, and Chargers. Bills need that bye week. Quote
BigAl2526 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 It is true that overall, the Bills schedule is pretty easy, but their schedule does include Baltimore, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, (They are 3-0 like Buffalo and some pundits like their Super Bowl odds) Cincinnati (week 14 - so there is a slight chance Burrows could be back) and Philadelphia. Of course, we already beat Baltimore, but there are four more teams that won't be a cakewalk. Quote
