hondo in seattle Posted September 10 Posted September 10 With 9 years of experience, this guy has a career average of 47.3 yards per punt (net 42.2). He supposedly excels at deep directional punting and has 183 punts downed inside the red zone. In 2024, he signed a 3-year, $9 million contract with the Steelers, but injured his ACL in Week 1 and missed the rest of the season. When Johnston got hurt last year, the Steelers signed Corliss Whitman to replace him. The two punters duked it out this preseason for the job. Johnston lost. 2 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted September 10 Posted September 10 (edited) Should have seen what Davidson had at punter. That would have given us some wild possibilities for fakes and he did a good job when he actually punted. Gives you a chance to dress an extra emergency te/wr that way too Edited September 10 by Brianmoorman4jesus Quote

That will fix it! Yeah, because they can only do one thing at a time and because they signed a new punter it means they were ignoring everything else. Makes sense. 3 Quote

Utah John Posted September 10 Posted September 10 The old punter had a tough game but all his holds were great. I know it's a tough league with high expectations but for a guy to lose his job over one NOT-terrible game is pretty severe. I think the Bills weren't really sold on Robbins coming out of training camp and their misgivings about him must have added up. Quote

I am glad they made the decision to move on, but why was he even in the building in the first place with that glowing bio? 1 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted September 10 Posted September 10 21 hours ago, Max Fischer said: I don't know if this article is correct, but this could explain why the Bills waited until this week to make a change: Oftentimes, NFL teams wait until after Week 1 to sign vested veterans, because their contracts are automatically guaranteed if they’re on opening-week rosters. That's also why the Bills only had Prater on the PS and activated him from the PS for the Ravens game. They have since signed him to the 53 man roster. Quote
henry jones Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Holy crap... the dude really does look like Bill Burr!! Lol.... Sorry, I'm late to the game apparently Quote
stlbills13 Posted September 10 Posted September 10 All I care about is who the holder is. But I do like the message that if you aren't performing you're out of luck Quote
