2024 WR Draft Class

It might be possible to get 1 of Nabers/Odunze/BTJ and keep pick 60 for Legette/Franklin.  Legette would probably require a move up again into the top 45 I imagine

but we could absolutely move into the teens say 16  with 28, 128 & 2025 2nd

then you could move from 60 to get Legette by parting with our other 2025 2nd

so you come away with

16. Brian Thomas Jr.

40. Xavier Legette

Still have a 4th, other late picks.  Kept our 1st next year

would certainly be a fun combo.

Legette is a physical, very fast beast and plays taller than 6’1.  as seen above, can be elite against man and has insane breakaway speed in open field

Thomas is 6’3 with one of the biggest wingspans in the draft, a true deep threat with 4.3 speed and the 2nd lowest drop rate among top WR’s. 17 TD’s.  2nd highest contested catch rate among the top 3 rounds of WR’s

gives our WR room a serious speed and size uprade. Both of which are needed badly

& a bonus, from interviews they seem to be fairly humble guys

I don’t think 28 & 2025 2nd and 128 gets you up higher than pick 20.  Maybe high enough to get Thomas, but probably not enough to get Odunze.

What I don't get is we just traded a wide receiver who people called a Cancer and a diva

Yet they want Marvin Harrison Jr who is 100% a diva also ... Dude didn't even talk to the media at the combine

He's full of himself

Yeah I’m down with Coleman. The 4.6 is a little scary, but so many guys the board clamors for the last couple of are “slow guys.” Davante Adams, Deandre Hopkins, Tyler Boyd, Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson…with a guy his size I am not sure the long speed matters all the much. I still prefer Brian Thomas, and after that Mitchell is my guy, but Coleman to me is in that same tier and I’d be good with him.

He DOESN'T DROP PASSES. That's been ONE of Josh's problems, dropped passes

I know it, but Josh is also far more effective with separators than contested ball specialists. Coleman can be a good player and not be ideal for JA.

Keon Coleman doesn’t fit the explosiveness that Beane and Sean have been talking about

All of the scouts are saying he's explosive off the snap. The slants/crossers/screens

Gabe Davis wasn't a great separator. He got open but just dropped passes. Gabe ran a 4.54 by the way😎

Are you getting kickbacks from Coleman’s agent?  For as much as you like him, he is a major boom or bust prospect.  There are not many 4.6 40 guys with limited lateral agility making an impact as NFL WR.  Maybe he con buck that trend, but too risky for my blood.

agreed. If he makes it to pick 60, that

might be a different story depending what happens for us in the 1st. I have Zero interest in taking him in Round 1

Um, when has Josh ever had a contested ball catcher? EVER?

You gotta hope he's an Anquan Boldin type. Boldin could take over games with a great QB passing to him because he was smart and physical.

MHJ

Nabers

Odunze

BTJ

Xavier Worthy

Xavier Legette

AD Mitchell

Ladd McConkey
Troy Franklin
Ricky Pearsall

Roman Wilson

Keon Coleman

This is where I’m at right now

Only changes I would make is a swap of Odunze and Thomas and McConkey into the second group…

I will root for whoever we get because I'm a Bills fan. Right now, here's how i'm feeling about some of the first round WR prospects:

Excited about:

MHJ

Nabers

Odunze

Legette

Uncertain:

Thomas Jr (higher in this category)

Franklin (higher in this category)

Mitchell (lowest in this category)

Not who I'd choose:

Worthy

Coleman

Some names after the first round who id be excited about include McConkey (could easily go in first), Wilson, Pearsall, Thrash, Rice (it wouldn't surprise me if we're high on him; good size and blocking ability+willingness)...

A very exciting draft. It's been awhile since I've been as eager for it to arrive.

Not 1st round to me at least.  But I'd very much be on board with trading up in the 2nd to get him.

He's going to be very good in the NFL.  His size/hands/quick breaks in and out of routes.  Downfield, not the speedster that many other WRs possess in this draft, but he outstanding balance and ability to win the 50/50 balls.

If this guy ran in the 4.40s, he'd be up in the tier 1 range.  Right now to me, he's borderline/bottom of tier 2, based on his long speed being the only downfall

I was high on Franklin heading into the combine, wavered on that a bit, but after his pro day I really feel like he does so much so well. He’s not the best guy in the draft overall, but he might be the best option for what the Bills are looking for. I’d like to entertain a possible trade back from 28 into the top of the 2nd round to recoup a 3rd or early 4th, but he would be my target between 33-37.

I would be fine with this, as my ideal scenario includes just about any type of trade back…

I feel trading up, sacrificing future assets, is fools gold, and will continue this team on a downward trajectory…

My love for Franklin is well documented. He’s very good at a lot of things. I’d be happy with him at 28, ecstatic if we got him after a trade down

@DCOrange has had Cowing as an early Day 2 talent for awhile. The stats backup what he saw.

I think Franklin's route running, football instincts, and explosiveness after the catch are top notch.  I think he is ready to contribute immediately and he just turned 21.

If the Bills like him they better grab him. I don't think he gets past the Chiefs myself.

Franklin is intriguing.  There’s so many good WR’s in this draft that he’s probably being overlooked right now. I like him better than any of the 1st round WR’s last year.  Got some Devante Adams to his game.  Such a fluid mover.

A Louisiana kid going to chilly Buffalo.  He likely isn't a fan of the cold.

I don't think it's malicious or anything.   Reminds me of this

Yea ok. Or…let’s think here. Oh, right…

The Bills showed high interest and said things to Thomas who has in turn told his friends what team seems to like him the most

I see some folks saying the Bills would be wise to let the draft come to them. I very much doubt Beane lets Davis walk and trades Diggs without a much more proactive plan to address the WR room. Thomas probably makes the most sense as a target you can get at a price point that may be high, but not as exorbitant as what would be entailed to get a top 3 WR.

I prefer McConkey, but I'd be fine with Franklin as part of a tandem. The other fella better be a big bodied X, imo. Thomas, Mitchell, Legette, or even Coleman; maybe Walker a bit later.

BTJ with XL would be quite something though.  A couple beasts on the outside

BTJ and Worthy for me. But any combination of BTJ and another WR in the 2nd-4th would probably excite me.

Limited lateral ability?? The guy returned punts for the Noles. Maybe watch some of them on YouTube

Jerry Rice says "hold my beer"!! Did you see his 40 time? Didn't see many people catch him on the football field.
