The Lions offense is so patient.

They stick with the run, use a ton of play action, bootlegs.

They are in control, whereas the Cowboys and Dolphins panic.

Also, Detroit got mocked for their draft.

Now it’s clear that Gibbs, LaPorta, Branch,  Campbell can all play.

Goff has become a master at play action.  So good.

Goff looking ridiculously good right now.

Don't worry, he'll turn into a pumpkin when he faces a good defense. Probably not until they meet the Niners though. It's crazy how bad most of the defenses are for NFC playoff teams

I don’t remember any talk of LaPorta going into the draft. I recall Kincaid and Mayer were thought to be the two best TEs. Kudos to the Lions for picking LaPorta before Mayer at the top of the 2nd round.

He was a top prospect at the position and deservedly so. Thought to be less "complete" TE than Mayer but more of an offensive threat.

Darnell Washington too, LOL.  I liked Kincaid okay, but I didn’t understand taking a guy who was going to be a 24 year old rookie that high.  He’s been solid, though.

Jesus, the refs gave the Lions a full second after the play clock hit 00.  Come on refs, that's just bull####.

They did the same thing on the Rams 4th down play.

The meta-game of the draft is weird and controlled by groupthink.  GMs all seem to worry that they'll be perceived as over-drafting someone when relatively meaningless things like the combine or Senior Bowl results get publicized.  If GMs were anonymous figures who all got to do what was truly best for their team with impunity, draft results would be vastly different.

You're right!! Think the Lions gave a hell what people thought where they drafted Gibbs?
