Von Miller: Bills made “right decision” to sit me

he intimated recently that the knee is not yet right.  so, yeah, just like Tre last year, year 2 after the ACL surgery is the year you come back full strength.

no real surprise here, ACL tear waste 2 seasons , not just the one in which the original injury occurs.  been shown to be the case dozens of times

is what it is.  shame.

good for Von.  sucks for everybody,  team,  fans, him.   he just hasnt gotten back like we all had hoped.   hopefully hes fully back next season.   we saw this with Tre when he came back.  happens.

I mean, if he's even admitting his play isn't up to standard maybe it's time to give some of it back. Take a pay cut Von.

would u?  he was injured on the job.  job he was doing well until that injury.  he may have his career ended because of doing that job.  its a contract signed by two well informed parties.  see zero reason why he should take a pay cut.

I really don't want to hear from him any longer.  Show up and perform, or just sit his *** from here on out

He shouldn't, we should just cut him.  Just like tre' it's business.  Your contracts are too big for both not only not playing up to the standard in which we signed you to, but both aren't performing at all.

Both need to go this offseason.

Because he will lose money anyway if cut.

He can hope another team gives him another contract with good guarantees, but that's highly unlikely given his age and recent performance.

This. This is why I can’t see ill will to Miller or Beane. It’s just an “it is what it is” moment. Nobody involved was fooled or taken advantage of.

How does a player take a "pay cut?"  I don't think they can.  At least not in a way that helps the Bills other than some salary cap space by extending him and giving him more guaranteed money.  I have never heard of this.  Even if they could... what person would do this?

I am putting money down that Miller plays,  sitting him last week was a good move and just offers him motivation. Either he goes all out or he may not be on this team next season.  It's now or never, this was the same guy who told media and fans he would be ready for game 1,  this is the final game of the season.

It's possible he retires this offseason if he doesn't believe he'll be the same.  Who knows

He should restructure his contract first. Not sure if that's possible but if he knows he's not playing at $20 mil per season level then the team shouldn't be on the hook for that

I understand that would probably be unprecedented but it feels like stealing to me.

The sad part is he was everything we hoped for before he tore his ACL.  We don't win @Chiefs or @Ravens without him.  He also sacked Cousins to force that insane 4th and 18 Jefferson catch.  He was something special to watch and it's a darn shame as he could've gone down as one of the best signings in Bills history.

100% agree with this.

I actually believe that Von will be a meaningful contributor next year. I don't think it rises to the level of his cap hit, but it won't be a complete waste of cap.

@Scott7975 Ask Aaron Rogers:

It can be done. Let's hope Von has the character to do so.
