LIVE ***NFL Draft, Day 3, coverage at noon.

Getting passes from Joe Burrow and Tua helps. I know Anthony Richardson got drafted high as well, but he didnā€™t play a whole bunch of the games that Shorter played in.Ā
When kids transfer, I think itā€™s easier to get lost in the scouting shuffle. Brandon being definitely likes to pick players that were five star athletes coming out of high school. This absolutely fit that bill.Ā

True, but 4.4 speed doesnā€™t grow on trees. Iā€™m willing to give a 6ā€™3ā€ guy NFL training for that kind of speed. He can separate with his track star ability. Shorter doesnā€™t really offer much that he does.Ā

Ā

I haven't see the kid play so I am not ragging on him, but you gotta do a LOT more than run fast to separate in the NFL. You have be able to release, run routes, get in and out of breaks. It is as much technique as speed.

What I have read he is a rough and tumble kind of WR.Ā Ā

Which is why I said (physically) as in his body type. Ā
Ā

Iā€™ve seen him in person in warm ups. Ā Heā€™s a physical specimen. Ā
Ā

Heā€™s definitely not DK. Ā Heā€™s not even Gabe. Ā He looks great off the bus.. hasnā€™t put it together.Ā

Not exactly a ringing endorsement haha. Ā Who knows, sometimes athletes ā€œget itā€ later on/ or a good coach brings it out. Ā I donā€™t have much hope of him making the roster this year at least. Ā 4 of the WR positions are pretty much set in stone and itā€™s arguable thatā€™s 5.. tough team to make from late in the draft, even if some of us are less than thrilled with the talent level.Ā

His major downfall is his tendency to body catch, but that can be corrected. He runs good routes from what Iā€™ve seen.Ā

With all of these comp picks starting in the 3rd, rounds will be 64 players before long

On his tape he looked wide open quite often.

He has very quick feet and can separate early due to his track instincts. His major issue is body catching. But separation isnā€™t an issue, somebody will draft him.Ā

Not sure what to think of this Shorter.

Ā

I think with the addition of Kincaid and they guys we have, inside may be covered.Ā  I kind of expect Beese to be back after everything shakes out cap wise.Ā  Hope this guy has hands and can be coachable to reach his potential.

They had him in for a 30 visit too. So this is a kid they targeted. That makes me feel a bit better about it too.

I just watched him vs LSU. Ā Big, muscular guy. Ā I did not see body catching in that game. Ā He can get deep with his size/speed, but as scouting reports I saw said, he isnā€™t a dynamic route runner. Ā Cutting sharply at his size is a challenge. Ā In that game, his size allowed him to shield defenders with his body on over the middle plays.

Ā

I know 1 game is not scouting, but I can see a little of what they like. Ā I also read that, as I guessed, he is a gunner on ST.

Solid list Gunner.Ā  I like it.

Considering the contract status of many DT's on the roster, I'm thinking that a DT has to be in the mix for one pick IF there is a BPA in that window to consider.

I thought Zach Evans would be a 5th rounder, he'd be a nice add at this point.Ā

Ā

Also a fan of Eli Ricks, specifically his high traits/potential.Ā  Former 5-star recruit, has ideal length and press/zone scheme versatile.

Florida had some bad coaching and program was struggling prior to new coach arriving last year. Ā No doubt that they can recruit some top talent, maybe looking for some top athletes who might be behind a bit due to the programā€™s struggles.

The only DT left on my board with a grade is Moro Ojomo.

I didn't focus on him the same way... but I wasn't super impressed what I did see.Ā

Ā

I think he's not an every down DT but certainly great to bring in on short yardage, and goal line situations.Ā  Great low base, and can collapse the pocket (or at least hold his ground).Ā  Big dude.

Ā

Ā

Bills make wholesale rotations on the DL. Ā  Everybody has to be an every down player.
