Mocks before FA should take into account potential FA acquisitions or re-signing of players (at least it should) based on known FA'S available CAP space (projections), potential contracts/Re-structures and best guess scenarios.

 

Personally,  I don't watch college ball until Bowl games, so I don't know the players. I like it when people name players, then I go watch film, highlights and read up on them. "Eye test" if you will. Do some Mocks to see where people think draftees currently project. Then the combine gives some facts/measuarbles to add to the information I have already gleaned. Then more reading and information compiled between combine and draft for several more mocks.😁

They will probably change more than 2 times even after the combine. Heck, mine has changed more than twice in the last hour.

 

You don't like mocks, that's fine. You think they are useless, OK.  Some of us do enjoy doing them, sharing thoughts, opinions and discussing them. Great entertainment, and fun learning about the draft class.  You know the bigger stars, especially from the top 15 programs but finding hidden gems etc is fun and it makes watching the combine and draft that much more interesting.

You asked a question and I answered it with what I thought was a very reasonable response. The same question gets asked every offseason to those of us that enjoy doing Mocks.

 

If I hurt your feelings,  I apologize as it was not my intent. But, I could also say the same about your response. You could have just given a couple of names of people you like, an opinion on the player and where you think they will fit in the draft. Instead you reply with what came across as a smarta$$ response and a link to a site most of us have probably already read before doing our Mocks.

my only issue here is the lack of a WR.  We would need one in FA, and that's fine.  Sometimes these mock drafts do not let a instant contributing WR come to you (see mine above).

Love this draft.  Top 3 rounds are instant day 1 contributors, IMO, and you managed to get a WR, OT, and C.  (in my mind, the best C, and perhaps the best OT).  

 

Like McIntosh as the RB, and the other 2 I have no idea about, but another G and DL sounds good.  Only issue here is lack of LB to replace Edmunds, hopefully that is addressed in FA then.

i mean, not a terrible draft if this is what Bean does.  I like the Vorhees and Patterson picks, potential day 1 starters.  

 

Hate rounds 1 and 3, although Smith may be our best rusher outside of Mille, but I'd rather go OT.  Simpson looks like a playmaker all over, and if we get a creative DC he would be very dangerous.

I got a gut feeling about Jarrett becoming a Diggs. I like this draft but seems like most have Jones in the first 3rd of the 2nd rd. If we could move down to one to the Bears, Texans or Cards 2nd, maybe we can pick up a high 3rd and or 4th plus, who knows.

I'm on the protect Josh first bandwagon as well. Doing this mock there were no lineman worth it in that spot, not even O'Cyrus Torrence. Linemen and WRs went fast in this draft. Smith could be VMs eventual replacement on the edge and Skinner has the size (6'4" 218) and models his game after his childhood favorite (Cam Chancellor).

I agree with trading back a few spots. Just a no trade Mock and Jones is a monster that can play both RT and LT.

Great draft, except for round 1 in my opinion.

 

I worry about Jaxon and the hamstring issues.  Will he be "Christian Watson" from the first 8 games of this season where he just could NOT stay on the field, had mental lapses, drops, running wrong routes??    Kadarius Toney also had chronic hamstring issues and it shuttled him right out of New York.

 

OR

 

Will he be the "Christian Watson" from the latter half where he finally got it together?

 

Personally, I don't want the Bills to gamble on that one.

Been spending some time looking at Iosivas. Obviously the competition level is an issue, but he catches everything, has excellent size, and has a track background. I’m guessing he is pretty smart too.

Took Sam LaPorta TE Iowa at 109 - led Iowa in receiving the last two seasons. Great athlete and route runner.  Can work all areas of the field.   A+

Took Moro Ojomo DL Texas at 115 - played 5 years at Texas after enrolling at only 16yrs old.  50 games with 30 starts but still has upside. Disruptive in the run game C
