Finally someone has brought this up! Thank you.  If the game gets moved it should be to Philadelphia or Washington.  Both are outdoor fields and both teams are away

I want it in Miami njust for trolling.

And yet people act like the Buffalo area is the only area in this country that get snow, wind and cold.

I’m not from WNY, but it always amazed me at how WNY is basically the only area in this country that is called out for having bad weather, yet I can name a million places that are impacted by weather as much, or more so, than WNY

 Yesterday's results.

Eagles 25 Bears 20. Eagles favored by 9. Eagles probably the best team in the league.

Also, Bills favored by 7 over Dolphins, Bills by 10 over Jets, etc...Bills were big favorites over Clev, Det, and Minn too. Every one of those games were close. Only game Bills covered that was a bigger spread was the NE game.

In short, the rational of the Bills being 10 point favorites doesn't indicate a blowout is coming. No one is doubting the Bills are the better team. However, thinking this game is a blowout is not how I see it. The last blowout game was week 5 vs Pitt.

Spreads don’t account for losing your starting center and being forced into having a third string guard play center midgame. Saturday night was an easy cover if morse finished the game.  Browns game and second jets games really weren’t ‘close’ by any means.  They were both back door covers.  It seems like Vegas just straight up whiffed on Detroit since they had a historic midseason turnaround…it is not surprising at all that that game was close given the results of their last 7 games (their only loss was to the bills). This was very much not a ‘the bills barely beat a bad team’ scenario.

bears also backdoor covered vs philly with a late garbage time touchdown.  I wouldn’t say the 9 point spread is proof a blowout is coming…the spread is set there because Vegas wants half the bets to be on the bears +9.  It is evidence that a comfortable win is very likely though.  Philly lost the turnover battle 3-1 and still won comfortably because they are a much better team than Chicago

seems to me like the psychological torment the bills have inflicted on us for years has caused people to not understand what a close game is haha. That bears eagles game was not very close

25-13 with 4 minutes to go in the 4th, outgained Chicago 421-248

who acts like that? Chicago and Green Bay are always in news for cold weather and snow late in the season

i think the only difference in weather at buffalo than the rest of the northern teams is just the sheer amount of snow fall they can get in one storm. Its -20 here in eastern montana for the week and we have gotten a lot of snow but it takes like 48 hrs to dump 12 inches or so, where as buffalo can get that crazy amount in less than 24. easier to clear stuff off with just the cold.

I am from WNY.  It's the SNOW that gets the reputation.  There aren't a lot of cities in this country that are going to get 5 feet of snow in 48-72 hours like they just got up there!

Watertown, NY is horrific; that's about the only one I can think of that has to be worse.

Then again, it never gets REALLY cold in WNY b/c of the lake.

I have friends in Chicago that are dealing with -5 to 5 degree temps routinely.  That's insane.  Then there's Minneapolis with similar temps, all of Wisconsin, much of the Midwest, and so on.

You are 100% right, though, of course, that much of this country gets crappy winter weather...in winter!

I can’t believe anyone would go to this game to begin with. If it is moved, it may be even worse— will even 1000 people show up?

Late moved game, on Christmas Eve, with a bears team that is eliminated.

Hmm, if we can get into Chicago, and if the city not shut down on Saturday , and IF clubs get under $150, we would consider it. Not going for sure if no way to get out of the elements

Not the only place but in general we get the most snow for a heavily populated area in the US and hold the record for most snow of any place in the US with a population of over 100K for a season with nearly 200 inches. But, we also clear snow better than just about any place in the Us outside of the Sierra Nevada mountains and in fact, have many locations that send their snow plow drivers here to learn from NYDOT plow drivers.

Chicago airports and Chicago/environs have good snow removal capability.

That said, Chicago airspace and Chicago are both a MESS when it snows, way worse than you see in Buffalo.

Reasons are that Chicago airspace is among the most dense in the country.  Airport scheduling at O'Hare assumes good weather, but when weather is bad, the landing capacity of the airport is drastically reduced  (IIRC, O'Hare's two main runways are too close to allow both to be used under instrument conditions).

Similar with the streets - Chicago traffic is normally a snarl in good weather because just so many people on the roads. When roads need to be plowed and following distance really should increase to allow for poor braking, it's total gridlock.  Maybe it's improved post-Panini with more people WFH, I don't know.

So I can say from this past weekend's experience that Midway's de-ice capability at night is lacking.  Over two hours from "boarding complete" to takeoff.  It was odd to see people coming in for the morning flights out of Buffalo when I showed up on gameday five hours later than expected.
