The Play Calling….

It’s not all on Josh….

Both sides of the ball the play calling is skeptical at best….

The get away from the run to fast. OT Minnesota game, 2 Timeouts left…. Run the ball. Thought it was prime for a QB sweep.

There are many things to blame, but Josh's INTs are easily the most significant factor in the loss.

Don't even start with this... I don't want to hear blame on Frazier, Dorsey, McDermott, Gabe, Knox, Edmunds, etc etc etc... you know, all the usual shifting of blame.

We had every opportunity to win it, and at each turn, Josh made costly mistakes. That simple, regardless of ANYTHING else.

We're lucky the Packers were so bad, otherwise it'd be a 3 game losing skid, all with multiple INT games from Allen.

Josh is playing like crap.  This has happened before.  My question is can Dorsey do what Daboll has done in the past and get Josh

right again?

How many carries has Hines got? Glad we traded for him! Duke is coming off the PS to play goal line and return KOs, who makes those decisions?!

This team is frustrating. Don’t be surprised if we finish with a 10-7 record and miss the playoffs. The decision making is that bad!

It's mind boggling. The Bills have been made out to be a model organization by the national media, but it's clear most of the team's success is because of a handful of outstanding players. I have honestly lost faith in this leadership

Like get creative! Put Oliver in a FB, try McKenzie in the backfield, motion him out. Do a trick play for once. There’s zero designed roll outs, naked boots etc… it’s Allen, 3/5 step drop, scramble and hope a WR gets open.

To me this loss comes down to 2 plays - going for it on 4th down when they should've just kicked the field goal and Cam Lewis going for the interception when all he needed to do was knock that ball down.  Both were inexcusable

And would have been just a simple play by Lewis to make! SMH  Not taking a FG to go up 13 to start the 4th qtr was beyond defensible. Minny would have needed TWO TD’s to win. Still beyond PO’d about that decision.

The play calls on 2nd, 3rd and 4th down were way worse then the decision to go for it.

Dorsey ***** sucks.

None of that matters when the game was ours to win.

Plenty of time left, we are marching, and Josh forces a ball for no reason when the shorter routes were open.

That’s the point, call passing plays with shorter routes, your first, second third reads…. Not your 4/5 read… or run the ball, a draw etc…

That play at the end was designed for the end zone.

yup. Ran that play like he was down 4 with 15 seconds. Just reckless.

which is fine as long as you don’t force it. It’s a common play call to send 4 verticals.

Plain and Simple this team currently has an issue running the ball… even when they can, they quickly abandoned it.  Also having issues stopping the run.

All on top of questionable coaching…. I’d ask McD…. “On Cam Lewis botched interception, were all the players and sideline yelling to bat the ball/swat the ball down, and not go for the interception? If not, why not?”….

Bet nobody said shiz, a PS guy called up trying to be a hero cause nobody is talking.

Most passing plays have multiple reads at short, medium, and longer distances. The underneath was open.  The pass to Gabe was well covered.  You never throw that ball.

There was nothing wrong with the play.  Josh forced the ball when he had other options that were open.

Why didn’t  our head coach take a time out during Overtime to talk it over with Josh and the the OC, when we were down towards the goal line.

Why was he saving it? It’s not like we were going back on defense.

Should've never gotten to that point if Lewis knocks that ball down

100%...I know it's a split second thing...But the fact that he tried to catch that ball instead of just about anything else is the only reason Jefferson has a chance to make the miraculous play...Going for the catch kept the ball right there. It's a lack of understanding situational football...Knocking it away is actually better than the INT there...Ugh...Can't believe that happened...B-)

Yes, but all his receivers are in the endzone for absolutely no ***** reason. The only guy who should have been that far down field is Gabe. Instead, Dorsey is forcing Allen to either scramble or throw into an endzone 20 yards away that is packed with defenders.

both were issues today.  Play should never have been called, and JA should have thrown it away.

Take a T.O. for what?  We were moving the ball just fine.

And even if they do take a T.O., so what?  What says Josh still doesn't force that ball?

To calm Josh down and to work the ball towards the end zone not throw it from beyond the 20 we had plenty of time. Josh, acting like he only had 10 seconds left not over a minute.

You're right.  A lot of the red zone issues come from poor situational awareness and that can be addressed with better communication.  It also begins in practice and film sessions and carries into game day on the field.  This worked better the last couple of seasons.  It needs to be fixed starting at the top.

Calm him down from what?  He looked fine.  He forced the ball. Simple as that. Same thing he's been doing since the bye.

even if we did take a T.O. there's nothing saying he still doesn't go out there and force the bad ball.

It’s called planning and coaching getting on the same page with your receivers.

Someone on the thread might have said it - but I saw that after we were up 17, we ran 3x.

And the series that led up to the 4th and 2 pick was just awful.

Dorsey has been solid this season - but he hasn't been spectacular, and today's decisions warrant scrutiny.  It was too "cute" by a mile.

Defense needs either Hyde (obviously he won't be there) or Poyer back there.  It's a big problem when they are both out.  It's kind of crazy but I keep thinking the season turned during a win.  Leading GB 27 - 10, Cook carries it down to the GB 3.  Second and goal.  Run it twice and kick the FG or run it three times and score a TD or pin GB deep. Instead, incompletion , then Interception.  GB makes it tiny bit of a nailbiter.  Same type of thing happened over and over today.  Refusal to run on second and short or third and short or when we did, couldn't make a yard or two.  Aren't going to win a Super Bowl if you can't gain a yard or two on the ground when you need it.  Oh, yeah Dorsey's play-calling is awful.

Dorsey didn't control, Singletary fumble, diggs drop off his chest, josh fumbled snap, josh 2 end zone int, both ints rbs were wide open for easy dump off, Singletary making the bad cuts missing massive gains, josh still refusing to hit Knox across the middle regularly.. just to name a few.

I think that the root of a lot of the problems with play calling and execution starts at the offencive line.  They have problems in both run and pass blocking.  The inconsistent-at-best run blocking causes Dorsey to seemingly abandon the run.  And when Allen has time, he often looks like he's surprised by the fact and hurries anyway.  To my eyes, he has been hurrying throws more frequently each week -- often unnecessarily -- because he does not trust the line.

IMHO, when you are up 2 scores in the 4th quarter, you need to be like the early 1990's Bills: take all your time, line up while showing which running play you will execute, execute that play, and inexorably march down the field for another score while chewing up clock and demoralising the opposition.

This team can't do that because of a bad offencive line -- which is why 3 score leads are not safe.

2 rb carries all first half pretty much says just meet at the QB and you can stop this offense.

OMG ..........a running play.

This team needs to commit more to the running game. And for god sake let Cook get something other than a sweep or toss.

Set up play action!!! But Josh needs to start playing better

The play calling is not good enough to beat a good defense. Josh is going to have to pull this game out of his rear end. Where is Hines. 3 games and he’s returning kicks. Sean and his offensive staff are somewhat lacking. Josh looks like he’s having problems throwing accurately. Nervous times.

Where is Hines???!!!! It’s ridiculous at this point. Whatever comes out of McDs mouth in regards to why he’s not get RB snaps is BS
