Hot , cold , wind , rain and snow are a part of football

People weren't paying 100's or 1000's of dolllars for tickets not to mention PSL licenses ( 5-10 thousand) to attend said games for over 140 years just to freeze during the game either

Basketball used to be played in open air facilities too....

In NYC, the street ballers still do!

But the owners aren’t building these things just for football any more because they know they can make even more money if they can host events year round. College football playoffs, NCAA tournaments (meaning final 4’s), huge wrestling events like wrestle mania, huge concerts at any time. These owners think outside of the 8 dates a year they host football games

Absolutely… Syracuse played ASU on an aircraft carrier like a decade ago

the wind moved the ball everywhere

As awesome as it would be, I don't think Buffalo would get a SB, even if they built a dome.  I don't think the area has enough hotel space, a large enough airport, etc. to accommodate a Super Bowl, not to mention the weather about town (regardless of the stadium) in February for other activities.  Yes, Minneapolis has pulled it off, but that city is much larger, more cosmopolitan, more hotel space, a major hub airport, etc.  While Minneapolis is colder than Buffalo, it isn't as susceptible to huge lake effect snow storms.  And I'm a big a Buffalo supporter as any.  So Buffalo isn't building a dome to attract a Super Bowl.  Nashville probably can attract one.

There may be other reasons to build a dome in Buffalo, but I am not jumping into that debate.  Just commenting on the Super Bowl part.

But hey, just because they can't bring the Super Bowl to Buffalo, there's nothing stopping the Bills from bringing Buffalo to the Super Bowl!

Cost: 2.2 Billion

I really wish we were getting a domed stadium instead of an open stadium

Remember Bills new stadium will cost 1.4 Billion - All Tax payer funded in comparison

Yeah, being able to host a Super Bowl in Buffalo would be great for this town, but some people think the weather here is some huge advantage.  I would disagree.  Maybe if we were a run heavy team, but bad weather favors the running game, not the passing game.

Who cares lol

the city of Buffalo isn’t equipped to hold a SB…

the goal is win lombardis … not host them

And how's that gone to date?

Do you understand how much revenue hosting a SB brings to a city?

The original stadium was supposed to be a dome lol

That was a option which didn’t happen … a proposed dome in Lancaster

proposed … Buffalo and dome do not mesh

Are you a troll? We are on the verge of winning for years … the last 50 years are IRRELEVANT

Not to mention 2 afl titles sitting in the Ralph … but nice try

On the verge, eh?  So, the verge is the goal?  And we can thank playing outside for being on the verge for years?

Ralph Wilson wanted a dome.  Almost moved the team to Seattle because of it before settling on the stadium in Orchard Park.  You said Buffalo was never going to build a dome but plans were initially in place to and the way you posted is acting as if no one wanted a dome.  They couldnt get the funding.  Same as now.  They wouldnt get the funding.  Has nothing to do with "Buffalo DNA"

If you don’t think JA17 will deliver SBs idk what your watching

and the bills have only lost 1 home playoff game EVER at the Ralph … it’s an advantage

The dome was never as close as your making it

It was never close to finalized … and yes even when this new stadium was being planned , keeping it outside was huge

Buffalo culture WAS MENTIONED

I think they could've gotten the funding if they really wanted to this time. It would've required the Pegula's to open their wallets and take on more of the costs themselves, but considering what they were able to somehow talk the State into kicking in, I think it could've gotten done.

And 150yrs ago we were riding around on horses. Couple thousand yrs ago we were living in huts.

Evolution is wonderful.

Domes like the Vikings and Falcons and open air stadiums like LA are really nice. We dont need to have your old 1970s style dome.

Based on how this team is built - via the passing game and Josh Allen an argument could be made for a strategic advantage for the next decade if we played in a dome/retractable roof

I want to see people get excited for our afc championship game when it’s 5 degrees out with 40mph winds and we can’t pass. Fun times.

Every QB coming into the Ralph in January WILL struggle worse than Josh

he can cut it through the winds and others cannot … that’s an advantage

But other teams may not revolve around the pass as much as we do. They may be able to run it down our throats.

Exactly, that's why I don't understand the thinking of all these "purists" that think were not the Bills if we're not playing in the cold, snow, and wind in Dec-Jan, apparently completely oblivious to the fact that those conditions are not great for our style of offense whatsoever.
