He has clearly mastered the obvious. How many new starters do you think we’ll have on the OL next year? I’d put the over/under at 2.5.

3....A healthy Dawkins and Brown are locks. Morse is decent but borderline. Guys like Ford, Boettger and Feliciano will be gone. We need to build road grading maulers on this OL. Then find a fast RB. Maybe a Kevin Walker type? I think they keep Singletary & Breida but Moss might be a casualty.

I think Morse is the only question on the interior, and agree we are set at tackle. Morse I believe has another year on his deal and they may bring someone in to learn behind him. I met his uncle (I believe it was) on the flight to the opener and he said he’d be gone next year. I mentioned I thought he had one year left and he just shrugged and said “well, you know…” Maybe with his concussion history and career earnings he’s decided to get out while the getting is good?

If Morse IS gone, then you are correct and the number will be three. Regardless, I hope he is well and he can have a long, happy and healthy life with his family after football.

Such a shame, I feel like our chances at success are shot this year, as a result of this...

Watch Iowa.  I want Tyler Linderbaum.  I would even accept a trade-up.  He would be our Q. Nelson.

Saw Greg breaking down the Bills on TV today.  Nothing we don't already know but this is from someone who watches every piece of film...

Let's hope the Bills are fixing some of these issues.

Problems are:

- Lack of running game, no commitment to it whatsoever. RB's aren't good enough.

- OLine are not nearly good enough in pass protection to throw the ball as often as they want.

- Lacking explosive plays in passing game which existed last season.  If drives can't be sustained by running, Bills must have explosive plays.

- Buffalo cannot execute a viable offense if the only dimension is passing.

- Josh Allen has to be special, every week, every play, or the Bills cannot win.  That's too much to ask, does not believe it's sustainable.

Cosell could have saved his time watching the film and come to the same conclusions just by reading TBD!

I'd take the under.  I think Dawkins and Brown return.  Plus one of the three of Morse, Mongo, and Williams.  Likely Williams comes back as he's the biggest cap hit.  Morse and Mongo total about $5 mil between them  I'd then sign a top FA guard and draft a Center/Guard.  That may be the one reason to keep Mongo instead as if they draft a guard, could move Mongo to center or could stay at guard.  He actually played pretty well their last year for Morse.

He said the same thing today on the Cowherd show.  This last comment has me concerned:

Do we risk messing up our franchise QB with insane expectations?  We know Allen internalizes this stuff and takes all the blame on his shoulders.  Throw in the fact that the big new contract makes him even more likley to believe he should be playing perfect every game.  Look how quick some of the posters on 2BD have thrown out his contract as a reason to expect Allen to play great on every play in every game.

I'm normally optimistic but on Cowherd Cosell seemed to be pissed off at the Bills brain trust for this. He didn't say so specifically but in responding to a Cowherd comment his tone was dripping with contempt with the Bills scheme and pass blocking.

Yes... but not really. Watch the Bucs, or even, gulp, a team that used to have Brady as QB.  Lots of different sweeps and quick passes, which are fast out of the QBs hands and almost equivalent to run plays. Of course with a mobile QB like Josh you can have a moving pocket as well from time to time. Even obvious straight running plays aren't predictable, like having 2 or even three(!) RB in the backfield. They make it unpredictable, so when they need the OL to pass protect for a long time, it come more as a surprise than a given. Keep the D guessing and the DLs demoralized with so many quick plays, instead of gunning for Josh every play.

The Bills OL is NOT built for power running like the Colts. But they also have been put out to dry way too often. All these things add up. The coaches actually did way more in the Jets game, with the FB being there a third of the time, and an extra 6th OL occasionally. In the Colts game they had 2 drives in the 1st half! And by then they were behind too much. They showed in that Jets game they were willing to adjust. Do it more!

Yes the Bills have to adjust, for sure. But just saying "run the ball" will mean a lot of 2nd and 9...

A team like the Niners has such a good OL that everybody they put in the backfield, including Deebo Samuel is effective.

I think Beane is a genius, and among the best GM's in the NFL.

But he miscalculated this offseason, and it was a big miss.  I think he saw the O-line and RB situation as "good enough."  No doubt that he didn't think those units were world beaters, but that they'd be able to do the job of keeping the offense at least minimally balanced and protect Allen.

If we don't win a SB this season, those 2 units are the reason why (I know this isn't a newsflash). I get that we had to address things like pass rush as well, and that on paper, the O-line didn't look as bad as they've been playing - but the run game is a tough one.  Looking around the league, other teams were able to upgrade fairly easily.  The Bills just didn't make much of an effort.

And then it snowballs - he looks for the big plays and goes for the hero-ball because he feels he has to for the team, as he sees it as his responsibility.

BOLD PREDICTION:  The Bills offense is going to thrive playing in the dome tomorrow night….

They can “ thrive” in ths dome against an average team all they want.  It will Mean nothing.  So what if we beat a non conference opponent ( and I’m not sure we will as Peyton is a better , SB winning coach ). .does that Improve our afc conference standing?  All our loses are AFC  loses. , we lose tiebreakers to everyone except the pats as we have yet to play them.  Our o is stagnant , our line is not capable of short yardage wins and we can’t/ don’t run in the red zone. Do yo honestly see us winning away games against the Bucs / Pats?

I see our best record as 11-6, and could be 10-7 and losing tie breakers , as we are outside looking in. We blew the easy wins, our o coordinator won’t run the ball and does not know how to develop an effective run scheme. After losses to the Bucs& Pats, we turn toward draft discussion , but most importantly we begin our search for a new o coordinator who can combine the run and pass. Pats game may be close within a possession ,but I see theBucs easily by 14-17 points. The pats , getting on a roll for the playoffs , lay a big loss on us in New England as the bills are ready to forget this season and players know coordinators, line coaches are lame ducks.

Basically , a dome doesn’t run or stop the run!  Our line play , slow backs like moss, and an o coordinator refusing to run , has wasted  a season , or two as we are forced to rebuild an offense that is not solely based on Josh. Even TB, got help and it’s a shame it took a wasted year for Mcd and Beane to grasp basic NFL  winning principles.   Do you HONESTLY BELIEVE WE SWEEP THE BUCS ANd PATS?  And if the dome is so important,,,,,,where are we getting one for the two pats games and against the Bucs?  The bills ARE WHO WE SAW against the Colts,,,,,,records are not fabricated!   We may squeak by the Saints, another so- so team, but do t drink the kool- aid,,,,we are not beating the Bucs at home and the pats twice. Hey , they lead the division and they just need to win one of our games to take the division, and this Bills team is too inconsistent to string wins together.  They haven’t in a month, no evidence they can flip a switch now!  There is no run coming like we saw end last year. Hope to be wrong, but I hope to win the lottery too !  I like controlling one’s fate over hope every time!

Brady won with less personnel in New England. Allen needs to be special every game. Well that is what MVP QBs do. The difference is McD is not Belichick.

Did he?  I don't recall a NE team with Brady that went to a Super Bowl with RB's as poor as the Bills.  Nor do I remember them going to Super Bowls with an O-line as poor as the Bills.  And as good as Diggs is he isn't better then Randy Moss and Beasley isn't better then Welker or Edelman.  And the Bills haven't had a TE the last couple of years with a fraction of the talent Gronk brought to the table.

If Allen needs to be special every game he Bills will not be going to a Super Bowl.  It's simply an unrealistic expectation.

Dawkins stays.

New left guard.

Morse 50/50.

New right guard.

Spencer brown stays at right tackle.

I think 2.5 over/under is bang on as it really depends on what they wanna do with Morse.

If they just would have drafted Creed Humphries... sigh
