Tasker agrees with me that the psychological aspect of this game is concerning. The Bills will have their hands full, and the Titans are likely to be charged up.

Why would the line favor the Bills? The schedule change only benefits the Titans, and embattled teams usually respond extremely well in these situations. Bills fans are in for a rude awakening Tuesday night IMO.

Because they have key cogs missing.  Because they have not been able to practice.  Because staff members have COVID.  Because the NFL and NFLPA have been up in their stuff.  Because they have been in turmoil as a team for 10 days.

I take no game, even one against the worst team, for granted.  I don't mark this down as a W just because of what I just rattled off. It just struck me as with all the craziness and disruption to their normal schedule that -1 seemed low.  I was thinking Bills -3.  I expect a spirited effort from the Titans in front of all those Bills fans in the stands.

Am I an idiot, or is everybody else trying to wrap their heads around the logic on this one?

So, if the Beers beat Detroit and Denver beats Atlanta in the American Southwestern Division East Northern, then Milwaukee goes to the Denslow Cup, unless Baltimore can upset Buffalo and Charlotte ties Toronto, then Oakland would play LA and Pittsburgh in a blind choice round robin. And if no clear winner emerges from all of this, the two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned.

Look, I'm as desperate as anyone else for the Bills to win. I want them to kick Tennessee's teeth in, and I think karma would like that as well. I'm just very uncomfortable with a lot of the overconfidence I'm seeing from Bills fans and just from fans around the league who are thinking there's going to be a big advantage for the Bills here. I just don't see that at all, and I'm afraid that it's going to be a big surprise to everyone if the Titans really get after us. I'm scared to death of "What happened to the Bills?" commentary the next morning.

Bills win by two scores.  I'm more afraid they spread their plague to our players.

I think there’s some merit to the “mental aspect” of this game.

The Titans will have that “us against the world” mentality, since they know everyone hates them right now.

Our players have been in flux leading up to this game.   I’m giving Tre White the benefit of the doubt, but can’t lie and say his not practicing, coinciding with Titans week, isn’t concerning..

I do trust McDermott as being a coach who will keep everyone focused and mentally prepared.  We also have Allen and Diggs as leaders on this team who are as competitive and motivated to win as anyone in the NFL.  I trust those guys to lead us through this.

Im hoping for the 2 man sack race, the question is which of the 8 teams will actually produce a Sack team and who will they be?

Miscommunication my arse!   No one is going to admit that they deliberately broke the rules.    "Yeah...we didn't hear that part about none of us was supposed to practice together outside the facility."

why does it matter if the fans are overconfident?

LOL they know precisely who has been in close contact with whom but they were clueless that guys were having practices until some college kid posted it on Twitter.

Yeah, this is the Achilles Heel in this whole thing with the Titans.

The premise appears to be that "close contacts" are to self-quarantine, test, and then remain quarantined until 24 hrs and a 2nd negative test have occurred.

Are we supposed to believe the Titans have now correctly and truthfully identified all of the close contacts they may have had with teammates outside the building, while not wearing their Kinexion trackers?  Would anyone like to bet on that?

See last sentence. I think people have unrealistic expectations.

Trust me, we see overreactions after every loss whether or not people have unrealistic expectations.

You left out the part where the close contacts are OK to test positive and the machine keeps on going.

It has some rationale behind it.  The close contacts are already supposed to be quarantining from the team pending 2 negative tests 24 hrs apart, so they're not supposed to be propagating the spread of the virus.

My problem with that reasoning is that it depends upon a system of objectively tracking players and knowing who the close contacts are.  The Titans are known to have flouted this, both within the facility and without.

I generally agree with you. There are just too many assumptions at the moment. Per your post and league protocol, they just need 2 negative tests within about 72 hours (2 more than 24 hours). Does that then remove the player from whatever Tennessee's version of "quarantine" is? And if it does, why does it not effect the status of the game?

This is not a rule breaking punishment like your kid stays out too late, get caught skipping school,  or you find your HS with a bottle of booze under their bed. This is, you found out your wife was banging her co-worker on her work trips even though she was video calling you every night to complain about what a ***** husband he is to his wife and is so glad you two have a strong relationship. You have lost the benefit of the doubt moving forward.

Another part probably missing from your issue is that we actually still don't know if there were any more practices than 9/29 AND 9/30. Because a 16 year old did not take a picture does not mean it didn't happen. I am generally not one to take such a leap from one step to the next, but this is something that could derail another franchise and/or the entire league.
