I'm surprised he's getting paid so little, but the Patriots would have had to make their roster weaker than it already is to afford him. They're gonna roll with Stidham this year, they don't really have a choice. The only other possibility is Cam Newton and he doesn't strike me as a Belichick type at all.

I think Newton ends up in Jacksonville

Don't think he is the kind of QB BB wants for his system.

Shocked to see Dalton sign for so little in Falls as a backup so quickly. Would have figured he holds out for a bit to try to find a place he has a better chance of starting in and if nothing came up signing as a backup.

So Dalton is out of the next apparent nightmare in NE contest who's the next candidate?

What are the Dolphins going to do with Rosen?

I said earlier this offseason that I could see him going to NE and starting, Now even more so. I think it's the perfect spot. A highly rated draft pick a couple years ago (was talked about as a potential #1 overall that year at some points) who has yet to develop after being passed around. Think about BBs legend if he could take in Rosen and turn him into their next Brady this offseason? They could get him for very little when the Dolphins dump him

Newton probably still isn't healthy.  I haven't heard about anyone bringing him in for a visit.

And Dalton had few options.  This is smart, considering he's from Texas and the Cowboys might not re-sign Prescott.

The Dols probably won't release Rosen until the end of training camp.  And Rosen is a bust.

I, like many others, thought he'd be a Patriot for sure.

Unless they suddenly sign Cam Newton, it looks like the Patriots really ARE rolling with Stidham.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Hoyer win the starting job over the summer.

Hoyer has been a starter in this league, granted a low level starter, but Stidham hasn't played a down, has he ?

If there is a Summer of training camps and a season this year.

Okay for the first time I actually believe that New England is going with Stidham.

Not a chance. Dak is the most consistently disrespected Quarterback in the NFL I think. The list of QBs I'd take ahead of him to win me a game tomorrow is actually pretty small.

I don’t know man. I’m on the other side, as I think he is one of the most overrated qbs in the league. That game against the Eagles in week 16 I think proved who he was. That was a game they needed more than any other and played like a more athletic Trent Edwards, dinking and dunking to 9 points. If the Cowboys give him that contract, it will be one of the worst albatrosses in the entire league in my opinion. Dalton in front of that line, with that run game, and those weapons I feel could outperform Dak.

If Dak makes it to free agency what kind of contract does he get? Who would even be interested? I don’t think he gets anything close to what he is asking. The Cowgirls are negotiating against themselves imo.

?

How? Because he signed a capable back up?

No, because he is a huge bargaining chip for Jones. If Dak doesn’t take an offer and holds out, Dalton starts. Then, if Dalton does as well as Dak has Done in this offense, Dak’s negotiating power erodes rapidly.

I could not disagree more strongly. If the Cowboys let Dak hit the market it is a colossal mistake.
