Week 13 Around the League Thread

Recommended Posts

As I'm watching Baltimore I can't help but think how much it feels like I'm watching a game of Madden.

As a 3rd person observer with the benefit of a complete view, I can't even tell what they are doing on most plays until it's too late.  It must be aggravating for those playing defense against them.

Jackson is an incredible runner.

Jackson not really looking very stoppable.

I don't agree with that. You have to contain him. But if he throws the ball you have a better than even chance of stopping him. Don't blitz and automatically target Jackson on the read option no matter what.

We have to find a way to make ravens throw the ball.  Not sure how we do that though.  :)

Take a big lead over the Ravens, which will be done by taking away their run game and neutralizing Lamar's rushing.  Easier said than done.

so now the patriots and 49ers, two of the best defenses we've seen in years look clueless against Jackson

praying McD and his staff create a magic game plan

The 49ers had them stopped but took a stupid roughing the passer penalty. That offense inside the 5 is an automatic TD. Otherwise I like what they're doing on defense.

Gameplan should be stack the box every play and force Lamar to beat you thru the air.  You aint stoppin him on the ground.

this doesn't work. Jackson is throwing at 76% completion and averaging about 200 yards per game

I meant in the running game.  He beats the first tackler almost every time.

I’m feeling really stupid for taking the niners in this game.  (Ok, feeling a little better now?

Doug Marrone has to be done in JAX. I assumed that he was a coach that would have an expiry date based on his disposition. That expiry date is today

I just tuned to them and was going to post something similar.

Brings a smile to my face!

Problem is that Jackson is simply faster than them.

Almost have to make Taron Johnson Jackson's shadow.

Agreed, there’s no doubt he’s faster. Angles will be super important and getting to him before he can get started will be key. Certainly easier said than done. Taron is a great tackler, but they’ll take advantage of the size mismatch. They’ve got some big dudes on offense. Maybe we see more Siran next week on D.

Pittsburgh is like Denver. Pretty good D, NO quarterback play to speak of. They won some games when they were getting turnovers at a huge rate.

Even without a real QB, Steelers have a ton of receiving weapons.  They will still score points.

Living in Florida I love, love, love watching the jags and dolphins lose. I don’t really enjoy Tampa losing, I actually feel bad for them.
