It's hard to sleep on Matt Milano when there are so many threads touting him.....

Well sorry weo i looked 3 pages and didn't see 1 thread

But all the people getting defensive and becoming offensive are literally a joke

This is a Bills forum where bills discussion takes place and I haven't seen anyone call Milano our MVP to be

I don't think I called anyone my enemy

And I never ever said I don't think this board has knowledgeable posters so why are you saying that

I looked for 3 pages and didn't see a Matt Milano thread. I called him the MVP of our defense next year , I haven't seen that many if  any say that

That was the point of the thread. It's a Bills forum and I think he can / will be a pro bowler

I don't come here saying I'm better than anyone but since you brought it up id like know who knows WAY MORE than me since I still get paid to be in football. I don't think I'm better than anyone but I still get paid to scout and coach 26 years + and forgot more than the average joe

This is a Bills forum and I like talking Bills, you just sound like an ass calling me out because I made a thread saying Milano will be our MVP and don't sleep on him

Whatever man. If your actual point or “prediction” was he’s gonna be the best player on the defense or a pro bowler then say that in the title. You’re getting dragged in this BS thread from multiple angles for good reason. Just say “Milano: Def MVP (prediction)” then. Enough of this “yall sleepin on this guy EXCEPT ME bs.”

So then you guys could've been more clear about the thread title.. IVE NEVER came here to be condescending.. I love the Bills and that's why I spend some free time here

And to be clear the title was don't sleep on Milano NOT you guys are sleeping on him so you better pay attention

I guess my creative writing class in college steered me wrong with bold headlines back in the day

I respect your opinion but cmon man they aren't in the same ballpark

Barkley was rookie of year and pro bowled and Milano hasn't even pro bowled

That's my point he will make the pro bowl

Dude relax.

Literally every single Bills fan on earth noticed how good Milano was playing last year (even GreggTX) until he got hurt. We all saw his progress from year 1 to year 2 and we all were excited about his future.

Plus theres about 7 threads about him on this very site.

So stop being defensive and admit this was a bunk thread.

P.S. Don’t sleep on Micah Hyde. I have a feeling he might have a good season.

No worries here about me. I won’t sleep on him. I far prefer my SleepNumber bed, thank you very much.

We have a Casper mattress. Love it. Nice part about it is if Matt was in the bed with me I wouldnt even feel him move around....hmmmmm. Perhaps I do have cause for concern.

Good title change....MVP? I want to see how his leg bounces back first.

He can realistically never be the same again

But modern science is amazing so I wouldn't doubt it if he comes back stronger

But, I've read on this very board that the linebackers are suspect and only Edmunds *maybe* has a chance to be marginally mediocre someday. Meanwhile, the DL isn't even cut out to rush a JV QB. It's all true. Cause I read it here.

Add more to ignore list.

In truth, it's Devin Singletary who's being slept upon.

This is a curious one. It's odd how low the expectations seem to be for a third round running back. I didn't personally like the pick, but time will tell. I will say that when you draft a RB in the 3rd round, he should be expected to contribute immediately and substantially.

You don't stash RB's away for future use. Statistically speaking, their best years will be early in their career.

Edit: greatly improved title.

Not one person here is sleeping on him... Where did you hear a single person say this?

i did get a solid nap in. no lie.

but at my age..

hope he returns healthy !

who is the 3rd LB though.is a 4-3 Joseph ?

Edmund needs the year two  to do the tighten up .
Milano is fun as heck to watch come out of no where seemingly.

could be beastly or we could struggle.

can i go back to my nap now?

TC will come soon enough

I think we all know Milano is a budding star, but 90% of fans of other teams have probably never heard of him. If he had his 2018 season for a big market team, he'd be on every "breakout player" list.

I wanna just break up some of the bashing, and say that I am STOKED to see Milano this year! He’s going to be an absolute beast. The way he reads a play and is able to run downhill to make a play, while avoiding blockers is something only 25% of NFL linebackers can do. Edmunds hasn’t been able to do this yet, but he’s still very good. Milano reminds me so much of Lavonte David from the Bucs. He’s a gem! Probably should be the face of our defense.

Matt Milano is one of several cases on the Bills where the present regime has a real good feel for matching players to systems.  Matt Milano on a team with a 3-4 defense would be at best a special teamer.  I think even some 4-3 defenses would find him something of a poor fit,  but Matt Milano in McDermott's 4-3?  Awesome!  Ed Oliver may be another one.  He probably has enough talent to be scheme flexible, but he has the potential to be a perennial pro bowler for McDermott. Tre White was regarded fairly highly coming out of college, but lots of observers thought he had limitations.  McDermott's zone defense on the back end facilitates greatness for him, even as he's had the chance to work on some of his limitations in man coverage.

I don't disagree with your assessment of Milano, but I've heard plenty. Not quite sure where "forgotten" comes from.

...agree bud...plenty of press about how he was missed doesn't mean "forgotten"....plenty of TBD posts asking for updates...thought that the kid was a bit smallish, but NEVER anticipated his veracity and contribution.....just another 5th round gem ala Meatball....so before I return to "under my rock", keep an eye on two more potential 5th round gems, Neal (2018) and Joseph (2019)...stay tuned....

Most NFL players fall into the role of scheme fit player

Only the truly elite elite players are plug and play players fit for every scheme

If you put 90% of NFL players in the perfect scheme they will be very good... Because they were scooped up for a reason and can play. That's why UDFAs sometimes become pro bowlers. They always had the talent, just not in the right fit

Milano would probably be a fit for any attacking 43 team as a WILL as he has the speed and instincts to run with TEs and backs but you are absolutely right he would be out of place in a 34 even as the WILL on the inside

Tre was the most polished corner in that draft to me as he played all techniques and coverages at a good level. Though he was supreme in zone especially cover 3

Where he can get lost a bit is in man vs a straight burner because he doenst have 4.3 speed or vs a big physical WR because he's 5'11

But you can gameplan for those things and he will learn. Just has to sit 7 yards off a guy with 4.3 speed and not press him

Value wise, Joseph was my favorite pick of the draft. Gonna be a challenge to find a position for him, but he's a playmaker. Any defensive staff worth their salt will find a way to get a playmaker on the field.

I expect good things again from Milano. There have been several write ups of him. Plus the addition of new players may have taken some attention away...but not much.
