Robert Kraft charged in prostitution ring bust ( Update: Kraft legal team accused of lying in court)

Interesting side note to all this: If Kraft* is found guilty of misdemeanor soliciting prostitution, he will technically be barred from entering Canada for ten years unless he earns Criminal Rehabilitation or a Temporary Resident Permit. In fact, since Canada does not exercise a presumption of innocence regarding foreign nationals with arrests, he may already be barred.

the judge can just toss it out or he can get pissed they are wasting his time and throw the book at him.

Someone should sell the video to the highlight bidder and give the money to charity

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

THE judge cannot unilaterally "throw the book at him".  It has to go to trial first Kraft's lawyers will demand a jury trial.

It was a direct Copy Paste -  Blame ESPN

True.

It's up to the prosecutor to prove that the defense made a false accusation (especially when the prosecutor concedes that the cop said he would "make something up" to justify the traffic stop).

Keystone cops down there...

lied in court?

Two of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft's high-profile defense attorneys lied during his misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution case and falsely alleged a police officer admitted to fabricating a traffic violation to stop another massage parlor customer, prosecutors asserted Tuesday.

More evidence here that proves Kraft and his inner circle is Scum. I can’t believe the NFL hasn’t done anything about this.

soo many people get so serious -

If the judge throws this book and hits him in the head maybe he'll learn to hire "high class escorts"

You want the NFL to punish Bob Kraft because he has dishonest lawyers?

Punish him for getting busted paying for prostitution on FILM and possibly supporting a human trafficking ring.... how about that? Guys in the NFL get punished for a lot less then that.. Just be consistent NFL with your punishments. That’s it....

You know as well as I do that Kraft has nothing to do with human trafficking.  He paid for a handy.  It's a misdemeanor.  It's not like he made an underground porn.  He was filmed without knowing it.

If he's convicted of a misdemeanor, then he should be punished appropriately for someone who's convicted of a misdemeanor.

If he ends up being acquitted, then he should be punished appropriately for a violation of the NFL's code of conduct.

That's it.  Nothing more, nothing less.  He shouldn't be forced to sell the team.  He shouldn't even be suspended.  He should be fined, because he didn't hurt anyone; he didn't force anyone to do anything; and - if found guilty - it's just a misdemeanor.

No, its not.     He paid for sex,  and he fingered himself while doing so

that qualifies as

he's an idiot.

in my book

I'm not disagreeing.

Still adds up to no more than a misdemeanor.

As with many generic terms that have come to be known by their brand names, like Kleenex and Xerox for example, the generic term “a handy” is now and forever known as “a krafty.”

Gug, I don't care what time he serves or how easily he gets off (pun intended)

He's humiliated himself and that is in and of itself just reward

I agree.  Just seems that many here want the tape revealed to further humiliate him.  I just don't see what that accomplishes.  All because of football?  Really?

I thought "a krafty" was a handy with a little something involving the back door?

Why not?  It’s all entertainment, right?   What’s more entertaining than an owner of a team, in a league that punishes players who get into legal trouble, getting into trouble himself and having to face the consequences, even if that involves being embarrassed publicly?

Sex tapes have been known to really jump-start a career.  Maybe Kraft can become a reality TV star?  "Keeping (it) up with Kraft?"

Cialis and Viagra would be in a bidding war for sponsorship.

It all comes down to the Bills sucking the last 20+ years and Brady walking all over them.  Somehow to some fans a video being released is some kind of justice for the Buffalo franchise being terrible?  I don't know, but as I said before, clown world...

There never was any human trafficking.  That was a shaky premise that the cops exploited to set up an elaborate handjob sting. LOL

So his lawyers lied?  Shocker!

No his lawyers accused, in court, the cop that did the traffic stop of fabricating the reason for the stop (which the prosecutor pretty much already conceded).  The prosecutor is now, a week later (not while he was standing there, in court when the accusation was made) saying the accusation was "lying".  Kraft's lawyers say they have some sort of tape where the cop says this stuff.

That would be a common misconception.  People who support illegal prostitution absolutely are contributing to human trafficking as they create the demand for it.  The vast majority of prostitutes - the ones with pimps - cannot leave their profession, except in a body bag.

I can’t speak for everyone but I think it has  more to do with the arrogance of Kraft. Most fans on this board are biased because of football, but if they felt that he was a decent guy I don’t think the snarkiness would be as thick.

So the people working like slaves in Chinese take-out restaurants and in Nail Salons are there for the love of their crafts?

I call bull.

If you're assertion is that someone who pays a C-note for a Krafty is supporting human trafficking, then by your logic, people who get Chinese take-out, manicures and pedicures, are supporting it just the same.

That is just stupid. Like forcefully stupid.  Let’s see, people working hard in restaurants, nail salons, etc. can walk out at any time and find a different/better job. They can report illegal treatment to authorities.  They don’t have to worry about being beaten and raped to death for doing those things. That would be the standard for the typical prostitute and, if you were not aware, a significant difference.

Please note:  I am speaking generally about prostitution in this country.  I have not followed this particular case all that closely.

This is a great point--I was going to say something to this effect earlier.

Imagine if "health inspectors" (ones not tipped off by the cops) ventured into the living space above any Chinese restaurant in any large city with a large Asian expat population....they would likely see suitcases, minifridges, "evidence of people living there".  So they would run to the cops who would run to the judge to get a warrant to videotape the place and bust it for human trafficking, right?

Sure, it happens all the time!

But in seriousness, sexual/human trafficking is a scourge.  But in an act of true cynicism, the PB county law enforcement used this as a pretext to set up a simple solicitation bust.

They then doubled down on their ballsy charade by announcing (months after ostensibly stepping in to free the slaves) that their "findings" were "just the tip of the iceberg".

Interestingly, that's all the crew of the Titanic could see as well.  Ships sink...
