I see a 6th seed and a first round exit.

Would love to see them survive the first weekend but I think that is unrealistic.

I would be bummed with a six since Kansas,K-St,VT and Nevada soiled the sheets the past few days...but I get it..it's all about being in a tough conference.

The circular logic of the power conferences. We're good because we play in a power conference. We're a power conference because everyone in it is good. Just don't ask us to play a good mid major team in our OOC.

Happy for you PTR!!!!

Also gives me someone to root for in both tourneys..so happy for me too!!!

You know what was the coolest part of this weekend? They let the fans on the court to celebrate with the team. I'm down there with CJ, Perk, Harris and Nate Oats hooting and hollering while they cut the nets down.

Also happy to visit Cleveland, a place I've never been to before. It's actually a fun town. And Quicken Loans Arena is a great venue. It's under construction right now because they are expanding the footprint to create wider concourses. Going to be something once they are done.

I'm hoping they go to Hartford. Only 2 hours from me. Columbus would be best for fans in WNY.

Eff him.

Go St. John's.

Then UB can go knock them off.

Ok, but I can’t think of a better revenge than knocking off the coach who put you on the map and then left for greener pastures.

Me, too. A sweet 16 spot is not out of the question.

Brutal. Texas Tech is a terrible match for us. They don’t play to our strengths at all.

I love the rest of the West region but I don’t like that looming TT matchup at all.

Josh Reed interviewed Oats on CH 23 right after (Santora's) ...it was written all of the coach's face and voice this possible match up was not a surprise. He was pretty much even keel about it.

I thought they deserved at least a 5, but the 5th in that region ends up playing Murry State, so I'm okay with a 6...

In Hartford, a 2 hours drive from me. I'm bummed. But after calming down and being over the disappointment that few UB fans can get to Tulsa in 5 days, I think it's a pretty favorable bracket. Texas Tech will be tough. But I also think Murray State is going to beat Marquette.

A 6 seed means top 24 so not too bad...hard to put UB ahead of any of the 5s.  Texas Tech is a tough 2nd round matchup because of great D but they're not world beaters.  Gotta love the chance for a first round matchup with Arizona State/Hurley.  You know the committee chuckled at that one.

I agree, they were never in discussion for a 4.  Plus 6 seeds historically have more final 4 appearances than 5's, so I am good with it.  Still the highest seeding for a MAC team ever.  As for the Hurley/Oats match up, there is also a possible father/son AD matchup with Duke and UCF (former UB AD).  So it's laughable that the committee states they don't think about match up story lines...

I think UB's official tournament rank is 23. Acceptable. Mid-majors reaching these heights for the first time are docked a few points anyway. A sort of "prove-us-wrong" challenge.

Tickets in Tulsa are on sale through @UBAthletics. Don't get too worried about all the Blue & White fund stuff. I'm betting they will have a hard time selling their full allotment in Tulsa, a tough place to get to from WNY on short notice without spending a fortune on airfare.

I don't follow NCAAB terribly close, but do fill out brackets every year.  This year I had my kids each do one. My daughter is able to read, so she picked UB to go the whole way because she thinks they are the Bills. My son can't read yet, so I named the mascots going for each matchup and had him pick who he liked better. He was really keen on the UC Irvine Anteaters, but has them losing to the Marquette Golden Eagles in the final.

While not a VCU fan, they have lost their last two coaches as well.

1) Shaka Smart may be fired in Texas

2) Will Wade suspended for dirty dealing on recruiting

3) VCU continues to win and make the tourney year after year...hopefully Nate sees a good situation like Few has and stays for 20 years

How is that any different than what pro teams do?

Its not really, i agree. Just always fely icky to me. I do wonder if the new tax law changes have had any effect on ST sales at some big name schools.

I mean, it has not affected my $200 donation for my Spiders football tickets!!!

I was bummed too.  I would have driven to Hartford w/ my son to watch the first weekend.   Or if they had been placed in the East bracket and advanced, the Sweet 16 would be in my backyard in DC.    Getting placed in Tulsa and potentially Anaheim is a bit rough on the travel budget.  Overall though, I agree it's a favorable bracket.

Some people say Texas Tech is a bad match-up, but maybe UB is a bad match-up for them?!?
