Watch Mr Smith goes to watching you ignorant swine.

I've watched it a number of times, but I don't see the significance....

But that's not true. Bill Gates lives in a relatively populous state while the dude living under the overpass in Wyoming does not. So the dude living under the overpass in Cheyenne has MORE of a say than Bill Gates based on the electoral college.

Not only that, the dude living under the overpass in Cheyenne is represented by the same number of senators as the overpass dwelling transient in Los Angeles despite the fact that 20 million people live in CA compared to 580k in Wyoming.

The whole system has allowed Bridgy Bill in Cheyenne to choose our leaders; thus Trump.

The fact that you continue to analyze the electoral college by individual votes shows that you really don't understand the US Constitution at all.

Prediction:  If Democrats retake all three branches they will increase the number of Supreme Court Justices to give them a majority citing McConnell's refusal to hold a vote on Garland as the betrayal of 150 years of an unspoken agreement between the parties of the Supreme Court appointment process.

Easy on him... As you know, kids are taught now that our nation is a democracy so the ignorance is only partially self inflicted....

Except they can’t pack the court, FDR tried and it was ruled unconstitutional

Who were the 2 that didn't vote?

Assuming Manchin & Murkowski were a yea & nay respectively.

Montana Senator at his daughter's funeral was one non-vote

Murkowski voted an Obamaesque "present"

And when the pendulum swings back again the Republicans follow suit

When does it stop?

It wasn't. The Democrats started to revolt against FDR, so he dropped it. The Constitution does not specify the number or makeup of federal courts (including the Supreme Court.) It's up to Congress to legislate how many district courts, circuit courts and supreme court justices there are.

I'd consider a wedding to be the end of one person's life therefore a funeral.

Exactly.  It's a slippery slope.

Oh thanks didn’t know that is what happened, was going off memory (obviously incorrect ones lol) What would be needed to pass that?

As an aside, you're letting your inner authoritarian show by asserting that people not living in costal urban centers should have no say in how they are governed, and instead those people living in "****ty states" should be dictated to by their betters.

No. What YOU are doing is asserting that people who live in Wyoming should have more of a say than someone who lives in New York.

The majority of the country votes democratic and yet the right holds all three branches of government. That is fundamentally unfair.

I understand that you like it because it benefits your ideology, but our government does not represent the will of the people. That's unfortunate.

So maybe the little states should lose some of their Congressional Representatives that are decided on population too. And of course California, New York and the other more populous states should get more Senators too.

You’re an idiot

I try to be as consistent as possible and the presumption of innocence is pretty damn important to our republic.

It would be nice if everyone was consistent in their beliefs.

You do realize that Democrats got clobbered in the '10 and '14 midterms by a large gap and that's a major reason the GOP controls the House and Senate.  My problem with Democrats is they only seem to realize there's an election every four years.  The complacency by Democratic voters is the reason we're in the minority in all three branches today.  Stop whining and vote.  Bring some friends.  I'm going to bring my undocumented gardener.

So the Republicans having a majority directly elected in the House of Representatives - the only portion of the government that was ever meant to be directly elected by the people - is "fundamentally unfair"? That the Republicans have a majority in the Senate, now directly elected by the people, is "fundamentally unfair"? All because Hillary got more meaningless "popular" votes in an election that has never, ever, been decided by a popular vote?

Your lack of understanding of the US government is going far beyond sheer stupidity. You're rapidly approaching Gator territory with this idiocy.

However, with that said, please continue. Liberal tears taste so good, especially on a glorious day like today.

!@#$ the will of the people. The so-called "people" want to force authoritarian rule upon their neighbors and feel they are oppressed because they are unable to do so.

Their goal is to have a Federal government without constitutional restraints so that they may impose their will upon others. Their will is illegitimate.

The imposition of one's will on another is the essence of evil.

Cocaine Mitch is completely unstoppable. You can now say without a doubt he's the most effective and powerful senate majority leader we've ever had.

While White House staff and his own are celebrating in private rooms around the Senate, Mitch McConnell is still on the Senate floor advancing more Trump nominees.

That's what REPRESENTATIVES are for.

Wyoming has two senators.  NY has two senators.

Wyoming has one representative.  NY has 27 representatives.

That is where the "will of the people" is expressed.  You're complaining about a problem that doesn't exist.

Remember when they used to teach basic civics in grade school?  The era of hyper self esteem means these people are too full of themselves  to realize how !@#$ing stupid they are.
