baskingridgebillsfan
Are they Tapped out. 5 million for aj 7 for Murphy 2 for bush and Jet linebacker 6 for Kyle figure at least 7 for Star x amount for draft picks This may not leave much left They will pick a up a little when the Wood thing get worked out. bkep32
if your numbers are right that prolly pretty close to being done. they had around 37 to 38 to start with...need around 6 to 9 for draft picks.
longtimebillsfan
You have to admit, they have made the most out of a week ago looked like a very restrictive cap number. What McBeane has accomplished is amazing.

Those are AAV's and not first year cap hits, which would be much lower (and I think Kyle will get closer to $4M).

mattt9998
Totally depends how contracts are structured. Hope for big signing bonuses to spread the $ over the length of the contract. We were tight for this year, but have tons of space after this season. I hope to see some current deals restructured before training cap. I fully expect moves to keep being made after the draft. One thing about the Top 51 Cap Limit is that for every player signed another lower paid player drops off. The guys dropping off are generally around 500k. So if you sign a guy for 1.5 million only 1 million will be added to the 51 Cap. Bills get to "designate" 2 Cap Hits to the "post June 1 cut" criteria. Bills haven't done that yet (Wood is probably 1 they will use it on). Tyrod or Glenn probably will be the other. Then like others have already said the AAV is different from the 1st year Cap Hit. I was guessing we got about 10-12 million left after the dust settles today. The "designated" guys should get the Bill's back to about 16-18. Enough for 2 decent sized signings. I'm looking for a LB and OL myself.

I mean, yeah it sucks for this year. But they are, IMO, being smart and getting as much of that dead money out of the way this year as possible (instead of spreading it out over 2yrs or more). So next year they will be in great shape with about $100M in cap. And they did a great job of cleaning up the Bills cap for the future.

Though please baby Jesus don’t let them create long term dead cap issues for RB with a ton of miles that will be 30 before camp. can and should are very different things here for that player. You want to target guys that you fully expect to fulfill their contract if restructuring 5 minutes ago, BillsFan4 said: Eh, not so much. I mean, yeah it sucks for this year. Essentially if you can be disciplined with your credit card it can give you flexibility, but if you are reckless you can get into trouble.

Buffalo03
I thought they had around $20 million prior to trading Tyrod. They saved $10 million by the Tyrod trade and then however much they saved by trading Cordy. So it's gotta be higher than we think

Don't extend and play with the cap. If there are some ways to work in another 5 million because of Wood and the trades, then do it. One more season of Charles Clay then we can cut him!!! I hope the draft a TE to groom with our new QB. POTENTIAL OUT: 2019, 4 YR, $33,500,000; $4,500,000 DEAD CAP
