Colts to interview Leslie Frazier for HC

This would suck, I've always liked Frazier as a DC. With McD and Frazier our defense is extremely well coached from top to bottom. I think the reason for the drop in sacks is because we have nobody to rush the passer. Hughes is all we have and he had a down year, Frazier is a good DC.

Frazier is a good DC but would be a very uninspired HC choice for the Colts.  And they'd need to hire a strong OC because he would delegate that entire aspect of coaching.  So they may as well just give the job to an offensive-minded up-and-comer.  Frankly, Daboll would be a better hire for them at this point...

Not that type of cooking....RV in the middle of the desert type of cooking.   Any recipe for that?

I would still probably go with that pork dip. It is next level good. If you are in the mood for Meth, I’d suggest just buying it. It’s too much work. Be a middle man.

Frazier is a good coach and very well spoken. I am sure Dungey will give him an endorsement as well. I would think Reich or Schwarz would be in a good position after Sunday.

Schwarz’s D = 613 yards of offense and no punts on Sunday

The issue here being that Irsay is a moron and people don't want to flush their careers down the toilet working for that pill-popper.

I agree but I think it was more the timing of his decision than the decision itself. McDaniels apologists blame the rule about when and how you can interview during the playoffs and if only he had more time to meet with the Colts. I don’t believe that. He knew who the colts were.

Oh, i wasn't talking about McDaniels, I was referring to all the possible second-choice candidates and how likely it is that they be willing to leave to coach for that organization. I dislike McDaniels (because Patriots) and it's a bad look for him, but it DOES look to me like they announced a press conference to move things along and pressure him to sign when they thought he might be wavering.

For McDaniels it's simply an awful move - he screwed over those poor coaches who signed with the colts already. This move ensured that owners won't trust him to hire him and coaches won't come work for him.

They hired Matt Eberflus to be their D-coordinator already, so me-thinks they want to go offense.  Could very well be a rooney rule interview.

They actually already fulfilled the Rooney Rule earlier in the search. But I agree they will likely go offense, or even ST (Toub).

This is just bad on McDaniels. He backed out after Kraft came back and offered him more to stay and jot take away more coaches. The Pats are already losing a bunch of coaches and McDaniels was expected to take more. He had already agreed to take the position  with the Colts but couldn't officially sign until after the SB. The Colts moved ahead with plans and at the last minute he went back on his word screwing the Colts.

He better have an agreement to replace BB in NE cause if not this may have been his last chance as a HC....

It wouldn’t bother me to see him leave. I also believe that our D can be better

It can definitely be a lot better. First and foremost they need better players on the front 7. Secondly, they need an offense that will not have them on the field the whole game.

Well I guess Terry could sweeten Frazier's contract like Kraft did to Josh. I sorta feel sorry for Indy fans , what a great stadium. Oh well they have the combine to look forward to.

Dont feel sorry. They got over a decade of hall of fame QB play. Then almost looked to get there again when luck started out.

They could use some misery to recalibrate.

Buffalo continues to be a farm system for the big leagues.  Any time we have success our players and coaches get plucked

Like NE was just about to with their coaches? Or Seattle when Bradley and Quinn left?

This happens everywhere

Despite their success, NE has had the most stability of anywhere I've ever seen as we just saw with McDaniels staying

Oh stop.

The last time our DC was "plucked", we ended up improving dramatically.

I would bet that--if Frazier got the job--McDermott would promote Babich to DC since he's been one before.

what typically happens is the DC takes his assistants with him and our entire defensive coaching staff would be gutted and everyone given promotions in Indy.  once again, another season with a new offensive and defensive coaching staff.  super late in the process to need to be adding new coaches

This is the first success in 17 seasons....

false.  we have had success on offense and defense.  we just haven't been able to put it all together

You're being a bit overdramatic, but this would be somewhat similar to the Pettine situation - IIRC the Browns were left scrambling and stumbled onto Pettine as their (very odd) hire.

Frazier would be an uninspired hire for the Colts although I suppose he might remind them of Dungy - he's stable, calm, high character.

instability has plagued us throughout the drought.  it's a big issue to lose your entire defensive coaching staff this late in the process

He can't simply take his assistants with him; they aren't being given de facto promotions, so they don't have to be let out of their contracts.
