People just throw it out there like it’s auto fact. Our passing offenses have been terrible the entire time Tyrod is here. I’m not trying to pile on the guy on the day of his probable last nfl start..but I’m tired of reading that. Bledsoe, Orton and Fitz were all better then Tyrod. A qb is there to throw the ball. All of those guys were better at that and it wasn’t even close.

Murdox
Guys, there is a lot of focus on TT, but what about Dennison? Exactly what has he proven ? At least we've seen that TT can perform better in a different offense. I haven't seen anything from Dennison, and his gameplans have brought TT down to new lows. And Peterman hasn't exactly shown much. I'm not suggesting TT is the answer, but I do think we need to consider how much our offensive "mastermind" is to blame for this mess. It's not all TT. T-Bomb
Tyrod is done, this is the perfect opportunity for McBeane to do what they wanted to do all season long. They are probably peeved that he got them 6 wins, makes it that much harder to draft a franchise QB.

I personally have Orton over TT. But TT had flashes where he showed he could play in this league. Young, extremely athletic, with some deficits in the more cerebral parts of the game. He had a higher ceiling than a Fitz. If Taylor could read a defense, run an offense, audible, he would've been the best QB the Bills had had in a long time. Those things we hoped were teachable. It turns out they weren't.

I was just saying the rook might not be horrible. That he will throw a ton of interceptions but the light might come on with repetition. Taylor made some good plays today. This offence isn't clicking as a unit enough for playoff caliber. We need an offence that can put up 21+ points more frequent. Honestly I'm just glad the defense is back to being solid. I think they played a good game and Tre White got his interception. Edited December 3, 2017 by Lfod
transplantbillsfan
Yes. It is. This is McDermott's opportunity to start Peterman the rest of the season without any repercussion even if he sucks. This was an unfortunate way for Taylor's Buffalo career to end, but next year our starter will almost certainly either be Rosen/Darnold/Mayfield/Jackson/(who else to draft in round 1???) or Peterman with one of those other guys waiting in the wings. SaviorPeterman
There's simply no point of starting Taylor again this year no matter how bad NP might possibly look in the process. And if certain players don't like it time to bench or cut them to send a message because that's how you truly change a culture. And quite frankly most of the likely candidates that would complain about TT being benched again are also likely playing their final games in Buffalo including McCoy. B Fan in LA
I think the injury gives McD an excuse to start somebody else, which is what he's wanted to do. I expect to see Mighty Joe Webb in there some more, also. He looks better than I expected. Probably better than Cardale. These new guys running OBD seem to be in a hurry to evaluate guys. Personally, I like it.

I wouldn't be hurt if they did build the offense around him only if it made sense because you might not be able to grab one of the top 3 QBs or have to spend to much to get it. I know one thing. If the offence produces we win today. Do whatever you have to. It needs to be fixed. Edited December 3, 2017 by Lfod

Well, I think we have the ammo to grab the third best qb. If Darnold comes out, I'd be more than happy with either Rosen, Darnold, or Mayfield. If not, I think Jackson may be around for one of our firsts and I would take a shot. No way in Hades you are selling this fan base on any form of even potentially building around Tyrod. He appears a fine person and an excellent athlete, but I don't think he's really capable of being consistently good at qb. Given the lower threshold, I would agree he is a solid backup. I think getting a QB is the safe pick. I just wouldn't like to be forced to take a QB out of desperation. Hopefully the Bills can get to a favorable spot and we are not picking at scraps just because we still hungry. It would be awesome to not squander good defensive performances anymore. You need to strike gold on this pick. If you trade up you need to hit or it's a stain. Edited December 3, 2017 by Lfod

Forced made some sense the EJ year when there really weren't first round grade qbs available. There will be some in 2018. Fortunately, our desperation and rational action are not antithetical under those conditions.

I think they did try to build an offense more suited to TT this year. There were designed roll outs, dinks and dunks over the middle to Clay. We never saw that last year. They recognized there was no point starting Sammy and Woods because Tyrod couldn't find them anyway, so they took the draft choices and got slower, taller receivers for him to find. For awhile it seemed to be working. Then, for some reason, It just stopped working. McD is on the hot seat and he wants to move on at QB. TT is gonzo. If they could find anybody willing to give them a 4th rounder for him right now, I think they'd do it tonight .

Others have also complained about the new blocking scheme which went away from the aggressive approach that yielded a generally more effective run game. Whatever accomodations were made for Tyrod, they didn't seem to consistently use read-option and roll outs, though we may have used them some. I personally just don't think Taylor is a quality starting qb. Regardless, I agree they would be happy to unload Taylor for a mid-round pick. Boatdrinks
It likely is. It's almost fitting it was in what turned out to be a surprisingly winnable game against the Bills chief tormentors . Due mostly to a solid defensive effort and gameplan by McDermott that was derailed by putrid QB play. Pretty much a microcosm of the Bills current state. Coach Tuesday
They took everything away that made him successful and asked him to become a rhythm passer, with no deep routes, no offensive line and no receivers. The strategy was stupid from Day 1 and it’s fair to seriously question the glorified gym teacher we have at head coach. That all said, I wish Tyrod well in Arizona, Baltimore or Denver next season.
