Dr. K
I want a QB who drops back, reads the D before he finishes his drop, plants his back foot and fires an accurate ball with confidence. Yeah, the WRs arent good but I dont remember the last time I saw TT do what I described. Hes hesitant, slow to read a D and his accuracy isnt good. But hey, he will make a nice run for a 1st down a couple of times a game and have the announcers say, thats what Tyrod brings to the table! Its not all TTs fault but hes not playing well. Theres plenty of blame to go around but the bottom line is hes good enough to get this team 6-7 wins each year and keep this team in QB purgatory. This front office got rid of the best offesnsive weapon the team had in the passing game while looking towards the future I wish theyd do the same and bench TT. Id rather lose the rest of the games with Peteman at the helm than win 7 with TT. Granted, I do realize this is a hard sell to the vets on the team but as a fan Id much prefer it. I agree completely. MarlinTheMagician
Who wouldn't? What I think is under-appreciated about Taylor is he gives you a chance to win every week. He can't carry the team - at least at this stage.

John from Riverside
My attention is not on Taylor anymore, I know what we can do with him at QB and it's definitely not the playoffs. It's now on the HC and the coaching staff to see how long it takes them to make a change. To make the change to what?

Pbomb
People have to stop making excuses for tyrod, he is an average qb at best. No clutchness at all, cant read a def, inaccurate. Has 2 good games a year, 7 average and 7 terrible, that equals no playoffs. His only positives are he can run and doesnt turn it over
NoSaint
What do you want? No Clay, no Matthews. We were in position to win, relax. Bad last series for sure. Tyrod haters going to have their turn and I guess today is it. He was not why we lost. He touched the ball 44 times and produced 140 yards (37 passes, 6 sacks and a run) There's no two ways to say it - he was bad.
BuffaloFan68
This thread header is as bad as Tyrod is at QB. You can start blaming the receivers when they are dropping good passes. Tyrod is NOT a good QB.
MarlinTheMagician
Yeah, I am less harsh in my assessment than many. I don't think he played well in second half. The play calling did not seem to help any. Not sure of what scheme would have succeeded with the weapons we had. And like in many games, a few things go the other way and we win. Last series was quite bad, beginning with the sack. But people are so odd in how they see the world as "he is a franchise guy" or "he stinks" - neither is the case. He is a competent game manager that takes care of the ball. We have the balance of this year to see if he can be more. Little tough to judge based on a bad half, on the road, in the rain, with almost no weapons. But I am sure he will be roundly denounced on this board. I don't think it is that simple. Game Manager
And he has AJ Green SMH. How many more years will you spam this site with excuses. I've watched you say the same thing 500 times over. hemma
I hope Dennison doesn't say, "He kept us in the game." Hard to watch any part of that offense, including the QB.

Chandler#81
Ummm, what? I want what you're smoking. A standard criticism of his game is he holds the ball too long waiting for receivers to get open and can't fully see the field. Never was that more apparent than today. Yeah, OP is losing Cred with this thread. All the other reasons/excuses are valid; poor OL play, injured receivers, bad weather and drops. Tyrod was off target much of the game in a game he couldn't afford to be.
Solomon Grundy
They showed a lot of shots of the WRs; looked like no one could get open all day. AJ Green wasn't open on half his throws, but Dalton still tried him. I'm afraid this team is gonna waste a playoff caliber defense with this QB. Mc Beane should be on the phone with the Chargers about acquiring Rivers. What would it hurt?
Call_Of_Ktulu
It will definitely be a boost to Peterman if Trubisky can do something with the horrid Bears offense. The Bears have worse WR's and a worse O-line, if Trubisky can have a good game that would at least open up conversation that a good QB can elevate the players around him. MarlinTheMagician
If all the other excuses are valid, then you get my point. Taylor was not great, and not a positive, but there was so much more to the loss than him, in my view. If that costs me cred, so be it!
Billsandhorns
I would pick a current starter or backup NFL QB at random and they win this game today. EJ Manuel?

If he throws with just a little anticipation today and we win this game walking away. Bad receivers and all, this was a very winnable game and we should have. GunnerBill
I wonder if the people saying to bench him watch other games? You don't bench the QB after one bad game. What will we do when the next guy comes in and puts up a bad game? The fanbase is nuts. Tyrod is what he is, right in the middle with a bunch of guys that are anywhere from 11th to 20th. I could have told you before the season he would have a few bad games, and that's before we traded Sammy. He'll have more bad games too! But if he should be benched for this game Dak Prescott should be benched for his performance against the Rams, and so on. But you said only 5 more consistent passers the other day? I am here to call out the Cult because that is what they do. When he is good they make brash statements and then when he lays an egg they row back and say "nobody is saying he is the answer." This week you have decried Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota and Carson Wentz in your frankly absurd campaign to prove Tyrod is better than Quarterbacks who have been drafted by teams who got off the pot and took a shot high in the draft. Today you try and row back and accept he could be as low as 20th best in the league. I think Tyrod was bad today but it doesn't change my view from yesterday, last week or last month and I don't think he was the main reason we lost the game. JPP
Tyrod Taylor had a bad game no doubt about that......play calling was suspect....mccoy couldnt get going..to many lost yards on runs and we have tolbert to backup..okay sheshh....the o-line was atrocious to say the least.....we had NO WR corp that could do anything or seperate for most of the game....our best WR was our TE who we lost........seeing something here?? Thats right it was multi crappy strong losing effort all around with our offence......and the people saying peterman should have been put in?? give me a friggin break...I like peterman...looked pretty decent in preseason but he would be laid out on his back many many times in the game i saw today.....regroup after the bye and hope they can do something about our line and WR's Edited October 8, 2017 by JPP

Bills Pimpin'
I have to say, I think much of this loss is on Tyrod. Missing semi-open receivers on 6-7 yard pass plays for incompletions can't happen in this offense. It's absolutely necessary for moving the sticks. It seems to happen once every drive of more than 6-7 plays. It also seems demoralizing to the players. His accuracy is so poor some games it is tough to overcome.
