It's very obvious that Tyrod is the answer to the poll. There is a chasm between him and the other QBs on the roster. Cardale has a ton of physical tools but is still 2 years away IMO. I like him and have seen every snap that he's ever played. He has a chance to be good but shouldn't see the field before 2018. EJ simply cant play football at this level. There is not much more to say on him.

With that being said I thought that yesterday's game was one of the worst couple of games that Tyrod has played in a Bills uniform. I judge his performance on 3 things turnovers, red zone efficiency and 3rd down efficiency. The way that the Bills offense is designed he needs to be good in those areas to have success. The turnover was a great play but a poor decision. The play (and play calling) in the red zone and on 3rd down were really bad.

Those 3 factors are what had the Bills 10th in points. When they don't execute in those areas the offense struggles.

Tyrod Taylor should definitely continue to play until we are eliminated. He is still a fair bit better than EJ and we have no idea what (if anything) Cardale is, but we can guess he is raw. He should basically continue to play until we are eliminated and either:

(a) the organisation has made the decision to move on from Tyrod this offseason; OR

(b) the organisation has the decision to move on from Rex this offseason.

TT was bad yesterday but there isn't even a conversation to be had about this. He's the starter for the remainder of the season.

As for next year, I'm torn. You don't want to get rid of a guy who is in the top 2/3 of the NFL and it's incredibly tough to find quality QBing but the more I see of TT the less I think he'll ever be a QB who makes quick decisions and makes accurate throws - which is what you need for sustained success in the NFL.

Cardale isn't ready. This isn't a Goff situation and he played a fraction of the football that guys like Wentz & Prescott have played. Cardale is well known and he's certainly got tools, but I don't see much sense in playing him as there's likely little he can show in 3-4 meaningless games that will sway the decision on him being the clear starter entering next year. Either Taylor plays himself into his contract for next year over the rest of the season or we'll be looking for a QB high in the draft or in free agency.

Tyrod is the starter the rest of the season period. The Bills have a decision to make in the off season on whether to commit to that big contract or find another QB to replace him. Given TT's paly recently there is now a chance they move on. Cardale is likely not ready until 2018, if he is ever ready.

There are like 6 teams looking for QBs every year. This year it'll probably be Jets, Browns, Bears, 49ers, maybe zona or Jax and i guess us. There are like no can't miss rookie QBs in this draft, and the browns 49ers jets bears get 4 shots before we would get one.

So that means we'd have to overpay for cutler/mccown/fitz/RG3/Kaepernick or something. And for the cutler fans - career 1-1 in playoffs, and that was 6 years ago. I just don't know if he has it in him.

So having watched many of those guys play... they are no more accurate than Tyrod. Without a solid WR option the bengals played press pretty much every snap to throw off his timing. It's easier to run on since you can block right off the snap, but guys were struggling to get off the line all game.

I'm sure there were throws to be made etc. but I also didn't think we called a particularly good game to get guys open out of press coverage. We have like 0 bunch formations, and we don't use motion enough to get people open.

His new contract is essentially a 2 year deal with an out in year 3. I'd pick it up.

Taylor is the best QB on the roster. We can win games with him and the defense being on top of their game. The running game and the defense are keys to our success. Clock management and keeping the other team off of the field are huge. We are a grind it out, need to win TOP, and make the most of our scoring opportunities type of team. The defense is much better than a year ago overall in my opinion. All of this doesn't change the fact that Tyrod is just a more athletic version of JP Losman.
