  1. Why do u say that? What was Bernard asked to do differently than Edmunds ? Or vice versa? They play the same position in the exact same defense. Both played deep coverage. Both blitzed. There is nothing that I saw all year to suggest Bernard was asked to do anything differently than Edmunds was the prior 5 years. Bernard is just a better player despite Edmunds being bigger, stronger, and faster.
  2. We beat the Chiefs with Edmunds at MLB so we should be fine with Klein today. Did I do this right?
  3. No it failed miserably with Edmunds, his market value was less than they paid for the 5th year option and worse, he outperformed it and then cost 35% more, so much so they had to let him walk. Either you extend or you franchise, you don’t lock yourself into a high risk low reward situation of the 5th year, it’s stupid.
  4. Besides Edmunds, Oliver, White, Dawkins, Ford, Singletary, Knox, Epenesa, Moss, Bass, Rousseau, Benford, Cook, Kincaid, and Torrence you are correct.
  5. I don't know enough about college prospects but if the brass loves a guy way more than the other options left, say Brian Thomas as an example, I'm good with giving up a fourth and maybe a third to get him. We should have an extra third because of Edmunds, right?
  6. Adam Schefter on X: "Eagles are releasing safety Kevin Byard, per source. Eagles acquired Byard from the Titans last October in exchange for a fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft along with safety Terrell Edmunds. https://t.co/uClJ0gOYCc" / X (twitter.com)
  7. McD has a solid history of playing rookies who earn it. Including some who didn't (hey, Cody Ford) Milano, Edmunds, Oliver, Rousseau, White, Allen, Benford, Araiza would have been a starter, Spencer Brown, Gabe Davis, Knox, etc.
  8. I have watched Dorian Williams play the last 2 games and have come away really impressed with this kid...the dude is all over the place...yes in the Jags game maybe he was a little TOO "all over the place" as he overran some runs, but he also had some fantastically athletic pass breakups too. Last game was much better and he shed blocks a few times to make tackles for short gains better than I ever remember seeing Edmunds do. I strongly believe that by the end of the year Bernard/Williams will be better than Edmunds/Milano last year as a tandem on the field, once Williams gains experience. That being said, I still think Bernard/Milano would be the best combo for them...Milano is just so good, it's crazy. Dude does everything well. I just think Williams is a better fit for what the Bills are trying to do on a down to down basis than Edmunds was and will prove to be even better once he gets more reps and experience as the season moves on. Bernard is already Milano "Lite" and has been nothing short of remarkable for us. Thoughts on this? I know it's a little bit of speculation and some high praise for Williams who we haven't seen enough of, but I think this kid has it at LB.
  9. Agree....it's just so inconsistent. We make the right call not extending Davis & Edmunds but get a little prematurely excited for Bass & Knox. Let the contract play all the way out, then make your decision.
  10. Unless you are convinced that the Bills were taking Mahomes at 27 (and that he would still be there), then the Bills didn't "give" the Chiefs Mahomes. They traded the pick and ended up with Tre White, (ultimately) Edmunds, Dawkins, Zay Jones and Neal.
  11. Chance to reunite with Edmunds....how can you say no. This plus Babich's interest from the Giants... McDermott better decide what he's doing and quickly.
  12. If Bernard and Edmunds were both free agents this year who would get the bigger contract?
  13. End of the day - you beat good QBs with guys like bernard making a play here and there. Edmunds closing throwing lanes is valuable, but its less valuable when you're playing a good QB who can either still find the window, or buy enough time to create one.
  14. I don't agree, we drafted a LB in the first round we got a good 5 years out of and was not worth the value to the Bills he was to another team. It is ok to let guys go. I believe Beane wanted to resign Edmunds but he could not justify it cap wise with the other people he signed. I Believe if Von was not signed, that money may have went to Edmunds and then we would not have learned what Bernard is.
  15. And there’s not a single physical characteristic where Bernard has the edge. Size, height, strength, speed, wingspan, all Edmunds. But Bernard is a football player and Edmunds is an athlete on a football field and therein lies the rub.
  16. The NFL will not disclose their formula. Overthecap seemed to have it nailed down, but not on that pick. Edmunds missed some time this season and playing time factors into the formula. Total speculation on my part, but that may have been it. He was calculated as giving us the lowest 3rd round comp pick - other than the ones given to teams that have minority GMs and HCs hired away.
  17. And yet another reason to be glad that we didn't back up the Brinks truck for Tremaine Edmunds
  18. The Bills traded pick #10 to the Chiefs who selected Mahomes. If they didn’t do that, there’s no guarantee that Mahomes is a Chief today. It’s great that we got Tre, Dawkins, Zay Jones (lol), Edmunds (lol) and Neal (lol). When does the parade start?
  19. This makes the Bills letting Edmunds walk for more money GENIUS !! If Edmunds got the money he got then Bernard will be worth a lot more money than Edmunds when it's all said and done . I was really leery at the beginning of the year when they decided to let Edmunds walk & gave Ed the big contract but once again Beane & McD know much better than i as the fan that i am . He's playing great I would really like to see this D with him & Millano on the field !!!! OMG .
  20. Some people will go out of their way to sneak in a backhanded dope slap thread at Edmunds.
  21. The bolded is a weird position to take, would you also never franchise tag a guy, even a Josh Allen, ever? Like never ever? Signing the 5th year option for Edmunds worked out cause it was not that much, it also worked out with Oliver IMO. But I do understand your argument about leverage...especially in this case where it is a highly paid position like DE.
  22. He usually owns up to his bad takes, though. He has talked over and over about how he was wrong about Bernard (as was pretty much everyone) and that Bernard makes splash plays while Edmunds did not. He also has good takes that are sometimes unpopular. For instance, he was a Gabe Davis critic way before that was popular. He believed in Spencer Brown when most everyone wanted to replace him, then Brown went out and had a good season and was pretty solid all year long. His job is to give his opinion about every single player all the time, so he is going to have misses.
  23. Like Elam? Cody Ford? Dawson Knox? Tremaine Edmunds? Just messing with you. No GM gets home run picks on every trade up. I’d rather he trade down and accumulate capital in the early rounds.
