I am  good with Dane being gone even with injuries at corner. The first “minor” surprise to me is I thought Shenault would win return job over cordington. Neither has any value at position but if ever was plan Z, I rather see shenault at WR than cordington at CB

Buffalo wasn’t going to keep a separate kick returner and punt returner.  Shenault isn’t a punt returner at all.

I think we pick up another corner today. Dorian Strong can't be trusted yet. He looked lost this preseason.

He looked great the first preseason game outside of the TD. Horrible the second and ok the third. Was impressed with his understanding of coverages at times.

Doesn’t he have to clear waivers first? This doesn’t sound right.

That may be their intention but there is no practice squad at this time and can’t be until after 4:00 today.

I mean, who is actually healthy enough to play? We are going to start benford and Ingram against the ravens on the outside, with Coddrington backing them up? That doesn’t seem like a great idea.

I think the plan is to score 50 points

I expect him to be on the practice squad here

No only do I think he’ll be on the PS, I’m guessing if Tre can’t go week 1 he’ll be elevated and be the week 1 starter.

Yeah, looks like Codrington will stick.

I see the in a total emergency Shenault at WR > Codrington at CB argument.... but I think I'd rather see Codrington as the return man. So you are then getting into what do you choose, better returner, or better break glass position player?

Yes. Unlikely that someone claims him though. He would have to be added to that team's active 53-man roster.

Well, I guess we disagree there. The very reason I thought he’d make the 53 is because he is a great STer who can also fill a backup role on D.

He's made a couple of nice plays on special teams but I think it's a bit early to call him a great special teamer. The question is really, does another team like him better than the 5 or 6 linebackers they have on their roster based on pretty limited tape of him? Maybe, but I still think it's more likely than not that he clears waivers.

With the new KO a rules and the possibility of generating one first down on every punt return, Cod all day long.

I get it that Beane drafted Hairston and he got hurt, but right now the secondary is a flaming disaster. Like season altering disaster.  As it stands now what are we looking at, Ingram starting at CB#2? Lewis as CB#3?

Time to trade some future draft picks and get someone that can play CB.

Hoping a broken down White and a rookie who hasn't played in weeks is the answer at CB is pure negligence. And that doesn't even address the safety issue where at best there is great uncertainty with Bishop. Maybe he plays well which would be a welcome surprise.

The rookie DL looks good so far. Props for him addressing the DL. Even if Carter looks like a bust and we have to wait 6 weeks for Hoecht to play, the kids look ready to contribute.

Win now at all costs. Go find a competent CB#2.

Shenault was horrible in ST coverage in that last preseason game. He missed on 2 if not 3 tackles on different kicks.

Yeah, he played himself off the roster in that last game. Good returner, but subpar gunner.

Can't be official until he is released and clear waivers to make the PS

One ding to Benford, who is often dinged but plays, is also concerning.

I think there will be WRs and CBs on the practice squad in those scenarios.  Like you would need 2-3 injuries in 1 game to see either playing snaps on offense or defense.

This too - Shakir already having an injury and missing a lot of practice time makes it unlikely to use him at PR.  The other option was coleman which is just... strange to put a starter on PR.

4th in the league last year is tough to top.  Can use Johnson and ray davis next to him on kickoffs too.
