Stop crying over every move the Bills make that you don’t like 🙄 Most wins by a coach or qb without a Super Bowl appearance. In that stretch the Defense has consistently not performed with continuous band aid signings like this. But keep waving the flag and banging the drum. 1 Quote

Probably won’t get much but the Bills might take their 6th rounder and deal with it This is probably correct. Assuming that's the reason they may just cut him outright if they can't trade him. They screwed the pooch with that pick but at least they're not doubling down on their mistake. My first thought was they're going to release De'Quan Jones to save some cap space. I think they'd have cut him already though and he is their only true one technique. Quote

RunTheBall Posted Monday at 12:27 AM Posted Monday at 12:27 AM (edited) This is a great move. First of all, Phillips was one of the only guys who showed up on defense against KC in the Championship game. That alone should give everyone the warm fuzzies because NONE of our guys on D tend to show up in the big game. This has everything to do with Carter, he’s gone, and no one else. Jordan is keeping the seat warm until Larry O is ready to come back. Walker and Sanders look good but they are rookies and you need more veterans than just Jones and Oliver early in the season while the rooks get up to speed. Once Larry is ready to come back they will reassess and unless Jordan is lighting it up he will go to the PS. Idk why everyone has sand in their vaginas. I’d rather have Philips than Carter. That’s another Beane bust. He’s a 3-tech and they are trying to make him into a 1-tech. Never gonna happen. Hopefully we get a late round draft pick instead of just cutting him. Stop bashing Trey White. The man has a roster spot as long as he has a heart beat as far as I’m concerned. Is that good roster building?? F-no. I don’t care. He will be ready week 1 (unless we get a vet corner then it’s worse than I think) and will hold the fort down the first half of the season until Max is ready to roll. I firmly believe Trey is going to make some plays for us this year and host the Lombardi at the next Trey White Goalie Academy function. Edited Monday at 12:33 AM by RunTheBall 1 1 1 Quote

khlax3 Posted Monday at 12:32 AM Posted Monday at 12:32 AM Here are cap savings on some of the Potential DT cuts Jones: cut:$5,500,000 savings trade: $7,750,000 savings Carter: Cut: $1,026,018 savings trade: $1,026,018 savings ogunjobi: cut/trade: $3,150,000 savings Phillips cap hit at minimum contract would be $1,030,000 1 Quote

I just feel like it's going to Carter because he is younger and the bills made him play out of position and didn't like the results (even though he wasn't bad when he was healthy). Either way, it tells me they still don't like their DT group (including PS). Edited Monday at 12:35 AM by The Wiz 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted Monday at 12:40 AM Posted Monday at 12:40 AM I mean this signing is definitely either Carter getting traded or Daquan Jones retiring/getting cut 1 1 Quote

He stunk in college 5 year player at Duke w really poor production his 5th year. He stunk last year. And he’s worse this year! Sanders and walker have flashes. But they’re penetrating pass rushers. They don’t look great vs the run consistently. yet. That is exactly Jordan Phillips. mind boggling Mcbeane roster building 1 Quote

I had no idea why they were drafting someone in the 3rd round from Duke anyways. I guess Zion Logue is not the answer? But I don’t mind that fivesome. But Phillips will probably be hurt in less time then Tre was. 😳😳 He was a captain! Quote

Hopefully everyone can see this and realize Oji/Hoecht do NOT count toward the initial 53 due to suspension. No reason to move on from Oji. Unless they want the vet there for the whole season. I read somewhere that dumping Larry now saves $1m on the cap, and that the savings won’t be realized if he’s cut upon return from suspension. As far as I know they’re gonna play him at 3 anyway, so they may just want to give Phillips the savings and move on. 10 minutes ago, gonzo1105 said: I mean this signing is definitely either Carter getting traded or Daquan Jones retiring/getting cut Maybe Carter but not Jones. SageAgainstTheMachine Posted Monday at 01:12 AM Posted Monday at 01:12 AM I get the sense that Phillips hangs around Highmark like a sad dog in the rain until Beane feels bad and lets him back inside. 3 Quote
