You can’t be on the pup list unless it is due to football related injuries from what I understand and they can’t practice  at the start of training camp, so he will not be practicing next week when camp starts.

This is all correct, except teams can move a PUP player to the active roster at any time prior to cut down day. So while I agree that he will likely miss practices at the start of camp, it’s not mandatory that he miss any time. The team can activate him if he’s ready by then. Players on PUP after cut downs must miss 4 weeks.

If they resign Von Miller were in trouble.

Von did say there were three teams interested in him.  So he is available because that really means no teams were interested in him

He didn't say NFL teams. Could be Argos, Rough riders and Roughriders.

the “be ready for the start of camp next week” seems odd. I don’t quite understand why you do this move if it just sidelines a player for a few days.

I mean, if he’s going to miss a couple days I guess you can steal a day or two looking at an extra guy?

That was a typo.  He meant to say next year.

It gives them the flexibility to sit him down longer if need be and bring another body in. Who the body is remains to be seen.

That was my guess too. Hopefully they already know what it is and aren’t waiting on an MRI or anything like that.

Oh, jeez, glad to hear that part. My heart was in my throat.

The Cole Bishop comparison isn't a great one, IMO. Safety has to essentially run the backfield and know what's going on everywhere. DEs still have a ton to learn but not on the level that a safety does.

Still would suck if he has to miss much time.
