Expand And it also makes sense the team need to weigh if that is in the best interest of the team. I don't begrudge any player from getting what they can but it takes two to tango. Expand But they're different positions with different expectations. It's tough but RBs at Cook's level are more common and easier to find than QB's at Josh's level. A team friendly deal for a QB will look very different to a team friendly deal for a RB. Quote

Expand I think it's understandable that some might turn around and go if Josh can take a team friendly deal then why can't Cook. I understand where you're coming from, with the huge difference in sizes of contract, but sympathy is going to be limited when Cook is still earning millions of dollars - far more than nearly every fan. It's just one of those things. And, to out it bluntly, Cook put it out there by his actions on social media. It's weird to tear up a 6 year deal after 2 years, but I get it QB salaries exploded, so it's fair to view this as a raise. And JA could have got more. Expand No. It would be based on what’s happening with other elite QBs in similar circumstance as well as staying within a given range of the top of market from a cash perspective. Too much is being made of the statistic you are referencing. It’s a nice feel good PR thing, but it’s fairly meaningless in Allen’s case. QBs like him and Mahomes are getting repeated adjustments to their deals. Ultimately it is all about cash for the player.
