UFL kicker drills GW 64 yarder (twice)

He was iced the first time but made the 64yd kick back to back, with room to spare. Impressive that he hasnt kicked since HS apparently. Would love if we were one of the teams interested. Give Bass some competition seeing as he struggled badly last year.

Your first kick to make since High School? 64 yarder for a game winner? That’s impressive alone.

Is his new moniker going to be the Kick God?

Norman... he's just a normal guy, but he's killin' it.

That's pretty damn impressive.

It's like a WR who hasn't thrown a pass since high school throwing a ball 65 yards in the air for a TD. Twice in a row (says there was a false start or something on the first play).

Sirius NFL was saying that with the new kickoff rules they think a few teams may consider having two kickers for a while. I really cannot fathom it or how it is going to be that beneficial.

if he eligible for the draft????

Bates for Bass trade????  🤣

the man makes 2xs 64 yd FG. Everyone rushes to sign him and his price goes up... Only to find out he can't hit the 25 yarder to save his own life.

the kid has to be pysched. Going from UFL to NFL, which would of been his dream I assume. He will get a tryout as long as the rest of his season doesn't turn ugly

Weird career trajectory.  Played mostly soccer in college.  Scored 4 goals in his career.  Played some football too but as a kickoff specialist.  Obviously has a strong leg.  Tried out for the Texans last year but didn't make the cut.

That is truly impressive.  To comeback to the skill and be a Master at it is something.

You can honestly refer to him as, oh I don’t know.

Master Jake*

I am very happy the UFL exists (and that it is a combination of the XFL and USFL as there isn't room in the market for two spring football leagues) because it does give guys a chance to make the NFL in unorthodox ways. The CFL is viable too but I think for whatever reason it is a lot harder to go from the CFL to the NFL. Maybe because the CFL rules are so vastly different?

Anyway I am glad to have a spring football league where guys can find ways to get into the NFL that weren't there in the past.

Wait until he shanks a couple of 30 yard kicks next game.

The difference between the CFL and UFL is players can't get out of CFL contracts to go to the NFL, while all UFL contracts are just one season long.

I didn't know that about the CFL, very interesting how restrictive they are. I believe the XFL 2.0 had a deal in place where any player could leave their XFL contract for the NFL they just couldn't join the USFL or CFL. I think the UFL has a chance to be a decent feeder league and a solid "niche" product for hardcore football nerds.

It must be annoying to the XFL that the second someone looks good, the NFL is going to come take away your player 😆

It's the whole selling point of the league.  They want their players to move up.

I've been wanting the Bills to bring in competition at kicker.  Bass had a weird year.  He wasn't great and it seemed like a lot of his kicks, even some of the makes, looked awkward.  Like the kick at the end of regulation against the Jets week 1.  Yes it was a 50ish yarder but it banked off the goalpost and in, so kinda lucky.  Some of other ones just didn't look straight or they moved around.  And then he gets a short one blocked in the Steelers playoff game and missed the one against KC.  I don't want the season to come down to a kick in the playoffs again and we're worried that our kicker makes a 45 yard or less FG....those should be basically automatic.  Plenty of kickers in the leagues are making 55+ seem easy.

Wait,  how the heck does a dude get into any league not having made a FG since HS? lol. I don't think I have made one since then either.
