A lot of it is because the players themselves are constantly calling for, or looking for a flag. I would like to see calling for a flag by a player become a personal foul. Fine for coaches. But unsportsmanlike by the players.

BearNorth
Kelce is either 1) interfered with, 2) calling for a flag or 3) committing OPI on nearly every passing play.

Drew21PA
League wide not just the Bills the bills - crazy enough - have gotten quite a bit of “help” on key plays this year if I’m being non biased I think there we like 6 flags in a row in that tennessee and steeler game just was saying to myself man these refs want to be on tv I think Edited November 4, 2023 by Drew21PA

Trying to modify Josh's on-field behaviors has blown up in our face every time. 🤣 (Plus it was mostly a joke poking fun at our own guy.) PetermansRedemption
Yes. Expect it on every single kick or punt return as well. When the announcer have to say “no flags” after every big play, that tells you all you need to know. That shouldn’t even be required speech when announcing a long TD play.
Ridgewaycynic2013
FFS. 🤨 Sadly topical. Again. 😕 Edited November 4, 2023 by Ridgewaycynic2013

NewEra
I usually don’t celebrate 3rd or 4th down stops until 2-3 secs after the play. My eyes go right to the bottom of the screen waiting for the yellow flag icon. When no flag icon, a huge sigh of relief

I have since I became a fan decades ago. It's part of the game. It is part of the game, the worst part, but it’s a necessary evil. GETTOTHE50
Nope. I find myself preoccupied and dreading McDorseys next shotgun call.
TheBrownBear
Yes. And this goes all the way back to the pass interference call on the hail Mary vs the Pats in 1998. That feels like the definitive start of the "flag watching" phenomenon for me.
