PonyBoy Posted Friday at 11:03 PM Posted Friday at 11:03 PM A few thoughts in no particular order (copyright) @Virgil @Bill from NYC 1. My father worked at a bank in late 70's or so and got me a black & white autographed picture of our backup QB Dan Manucci (some old timers remember him) 2. We sponsored the Thurman Thomas Show at our restaurant, Daryl Talley was a guest as well. An old timer who didn't come back right from Vietnam was busting his balls after his DWI telling him don't drink too much boy. Darryl said to me personally if that MF'er calls me boy one more time I'm gonna F*** him up! 3. I was working in sales at a Mercedes dealership. Sam Gash came in, met him with the GM. I was about 6'-3", 195 & about 38. I'm in a suit and said to him, ya know what? I don't think you can block me, I think I can beat you. I get down in a 3 pt. stance... We all just burst out laughing! 😂 Good times 2 1 Quote

I was seated next to his mother. Actually one of his better games. His mom was pumped. Lots of BC stories and parent stories about him and his sister who I think was a swimmer or something like that. When his father stood up and helped my wife get her over head bag down I could see where they were related. Good people. Kinda rooted for Sweeney while he was in Buffalo just because his parents were nice. Sweeney is a Bills legend. The heat game in Miami, the Bills last loss to Miami, Bills players were injured and overheating, and we ran out of OL. Tommy Sweeney, with torn ligaments in his knee, went and played Tackle, because we had zero other OL healthy. Bills players always raved about Tommy Quote

Kelvin Benjamin was a Popeyes biscuit away from being a TE. And then he converted to TE. Kevin Kolb hates rubber mats. Gibran Hamden was prettier than Matt Milano. Brian Brohm? Really? Are you serious? The man had zero for an arm..... Quote

MiracleAtRich1393 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Charles Clay signed a lucrative contract. Robert Foster was Josh Allen's best weapon his rookie year. Just read this whole thread front to back for the first time, incredible contributions everyone! 1 Quote

My dad took me to a trading card show when I was about 13, and I got to shake hands with him. I was already probably like 5'10", so I wasn't exactly a small kid, and during that handshake, his middle finger landed like halfway up my forearm. Quote
stevestojan Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I always loved Jay Riemersma when he was a Bill. Being an idiot, I wore a tshirt to a game that said “Jay Riemersma is my Dad” in 2014 (ten years after he retired). At least 50% of people who read it said “man I loved your dad when he was on the bills!” I’m exactly 6 years younger than Jay. I found him on Facebook and sent him that story thinking he’d never respond because it’s so stupid. He did reply, and said how much he loves Bills fans. We now chat every once in a while about our chances against certain teams, what position we need at the draft, and he sends me a happy birthday message annually. I think he's probably the best TE in Bills history, which is like being the fastest kid at fat camp, but he was still The Man. 1 Quote

He signed it "Dr. Sack" Not Bills related, but in my 20’s Danny Gare gave me and a friend his autograph on a napkin at Mother’s in Allentown. The thing is, we didn’t ask him for it. I was wearing a Lonfontaine jersey after a Sabres game and we struck up a conversation with him. I wish I could say it was cool, but surreal and bizarre would be more accurate. He had clearly had a drink or two, and he was mostly bitching about Glen Sather and his last season with the Oilers. I never expected that I’d be the one trying to find the conversation off ramp in an encounter with local celebrity. 😂 Quote
