The overhead shots from drone or helicopter look like pretty good coverage.  But all the views I've seen from inside the lower deck or field level looks like a lot of people will be getting rain or snowed on. 

 

I think we can agree the upper decks have the coverage and certainly if you are in the last 10-20 rows of upper deck you are not getting rained on....but you're also not feeling any warmth on those chilly but sunny late fall days.

How’s this for proof? I took this in the upper deck looking straight down the sideline on my tour….mostly because I knew I’d be asked.

About what date and time of day did you take that? I'm curious about the shading in the part of the stadium where you're standing, which is close to where my seats will be.

The photo was taken at exactly 4:15pm, August 8th.

Interesting to note in the second video is they mentioned the sidelines have heat tubes also, that can be set for a higher temp. How many times will the visitor sideline suffer a malfunction during those cold November and December days and not work at all?

I get the joke - but thought it was interesting he mentioned to be able to melt any excess snow that might ever have to be shoveled.  Seems like they really have thought of everything

I went down the rabbit hole of grass fields in cold climates and saw the groundskeeper at Lambeau field commenting that they try to keep the field at 38 degrees in the winter, just above freezing but also cold enough to keep the grass tough and durable.  I’m sure the Bills have real science behind their plans and their system is more high tech than Lambeau but it was interesting to hear another perspective.

Interesting. It looks like you're facing the north end of the stadium, but the shadows appear to be cast down and toward the west. I would think at that time of day in August the shadows would be cast more vertically, or if anything toward the east. Shows how little I know.

Ah yes, you're right! The shading made me miss where the bottom part of the stands were, so for some reason it made me think I was looking at the opposite side of the stands. Thanks!

 Likely not a huge deal, but I don't love grass on the field and turf on the sidelines. It is less about turf v grass and more about how I hate that when players end a play OOB and while running guys have a change in surface. 

It just doesn't feel like it is worth the risk. Just make the whole thing grass.

I love the fact the canopy coverage is less than Tottenham - especially if the smaller canopy keeps the shadows off the field.  The canopy should be just large enough to negate bizarre wind tunnel games like the pats game in 2021.
