Maybe it’s the same with every stadium but it sure feels like everything we do is such amateur hour.

well, every new stadium is enclosed or has a pavilion roof now even in perfect weather sites, so yes you are 100% absolutely correct.

the NFLworld moves on and WNY stays stuck in the mud.

Wash, Cleveland, JAX, and Chicago, all proposing domes now. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

This is nothing unusual, and certainly not controversial. The term used in the industry is ‘substantial completion’ and signifies the day that the project can be turned over to the Owner for its intended use. I’d have been shocked if it was anything else. The fact that there’ll be crews working around in a brand new facility (that’s only used one day every other week) is not the least bit unexpected.

Exactly.  It’s basically like a “punch list” to be completed.

The lengths to which some will go in this forum to be critical of this organization is something.

I think it's a rule that government contracts aren't allowed to be completed on time, ever.

Apparently, it'll still going to open in July with normal games for the season while construction is finishing.

Grab a hard hat and reflective vest and look for the workers entrance. Free game!

Maybe set expectations differently? If they said it'll be done Spring 2027, then the perception is OMG they got it done early. But by saying it'll be done for the 2026 season, this makes it look late. Always under promise so you can over deliver.

So long as it's open for 2026 season & even if it isn't so long as they've got a place to play, I don't really care. Would be awkward if they tore the old one down then realized the new one wasn't going to be ready in time. 😂

I don't think they have ever said it will be 100% complete i.e. "done" by 2026 opening day, they simply said it will be ready ("substantially complete and ready for football"). You can't tell people it will be completed in Spring 2027 it would be too confusing to season ticket buyers, as evidenced by the number of people right here that don't even understand this latest news report. Anyway here's a recent video.
