78thealltimegreat
Going to miss the man who in 2019 pro football focus famously said was better then Josh Allen. May he have many future Steelers-Bills duels on Madden. 2

Lol, I'd love to have kind of money he has and nobody wanted me so I could retire. Anyway, seriously though...He would be the starter for Panthers probably. Seattle too easily. Maybe a couple other teams with sad QB situations, those were 2 off top of my head.
Punching Bag
Surprised he is retiring with Pittsburgh's backup QB deceased due to being hit by vehicle. Expected him to be brought in as "camp arm". https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/devlin-duck-hodges-who-started-six-games-for-the-2019-steelers-retires-from-pro-football/ Edited April 25, 2022 by Limeaid
Albany,n.y.
In 2019 the Bills were playing the Steelers & the Steelers were favored. I looked at the matchups & said "Josh Allen vs Duck Hodges" I then raced to the casino & bet the Bills on the money line.
TheBrownBear
Kinda weird to see a young guy go from serviceable NFL backup to CFL bench warmer in the span of like 18 months. Life comes at you fast.

ArdmoreRyno
Steeler fans are the worst fans in the NFL. I'm an Oklahoma State guy so naturally a huge Mason Rudolph fan.... they all clamored for Hodges after Mason came back from him being knocked out against the Ravens early that 2019 season. I kept telling them, it's not the QB... Mason is actually a SOLID backup, it's the OL and the fact the Steelers had ZERO weapons on offense. The RB sucked and the WR'ers were hurt all year. Hodges turned out way worse than Rudolph could ever be.

Their bit was to find something positive to say about each team’s chances that week. For the Steelers playing the Bills they said that Hodges had played better than Allen the previous week. They never said he was a better QB.

Nowhere does it say better quarterback right now It says duck Hodges is a better quarterback playing at home in a must win Edited April 25, 2022 by Buffalo716

The caveat of it being a 3 game sample from Hodges follows. Also if you read the whole thing - instead of the one sentence clip - you’ll see that they are just messing around like I said. And saying duck is better, then putting a caveat that it's only been three games is BS That's why they have no merit .. you either stand by your convictions or you don't It's not TMZ, they try to put themselves out as legitimate football people.. you can't just write joke articles Edited April 25, 2022 by Buffalo716
ControllerOfPlanetX
It was All-Duck, all the time, until the Bills exposed him in SNF. And if the Steelers draft Willis or Pickett, they will become the instant “better prospect than Josh” flavor of the month.

That’s what the historical data pointed to as a near certainty. But Allen has succeeded. And guess what? The people at PFF have not only acknowledged that, they’ve changed their methodology to try to account for players like him. But don’t let any of that temper your outrage. I mean I could care less about PFF.. and they do have nice advanced statistics Somebody mentioned them saying duck Hodges was better And to everybody who cannot subscribe to PFF.. the only sentence you have is duck Hodges is better than Josh Allen That's a fact There is no historical data for quarterbacking because things like completion percentage don't measure accuracy.. it doesn't account for team talent... Or scheme... pass attempts...You look for traits Tons of football scouts had Josh Allen as a tremendous talent.. that's why he was coveted.. talked about as a potential number one pick While most analytic sites don't like him because analytic people aren't football coaches or scouts Sometimes you need to be able to use your eye and say hey that's a good football player.. not just use numbers or data PFF is nice with all the advanced Data it gives you but they're not the best talent evaluators Edited April 25, 2022 by Buffalo716 1
