With Settle, Jones and Oliver, along with cap saboteur Star Lotulelei, this makes zero sense to me.

Star is a post June 1 cut and we are finally done with him.  So your top 4 become

Settle, Oliver, Jones and Hicks  YES PLEASE

Maybe the interest in Hicks was prior to the Settle/Jones signings?

Wouldn’t put it past an agent to throw this out there.

This is kind of where I'm at. Hicks is a good player. But if you're going to sign and pay Hicks, why would you pay 11.5 million for Jones and Settle? Seems like a fair amount of cap space just for rotational pieces.

I wouldn't be opposed to Hicks, but we really need to get help at DE.

Would be an 8 million dead cap hit. I don't see it.

Post June 1 Designation

5.1 Dead in 2022

2023 Dead 2.6

2022 Savings 4.126

Non post june 1 designation

7.7M Dead

1.5M savings

Hence he will be cut with the Post June 1st Designation and move on from this malcontent

My thought on all of the DT interest is two fold.

1. I think by getting experienced guys in the middle with proven success it will help the younger defensive ends have one on ones and hopefully became better at their craft

2. I think they are on the fence with Edmunds. They probably feel they haven't given him enough beef up front to flow and be as successful as they like. If they put all of these guys in front of him and he is still average then they have their answer on whether to reup him or not after his 5th year option.

Does that cause any future cap ramifications?

If not, yes, sign me up for that!

post June 1st

2022 Dead - 5.1M

2023 Dead - 2.6M

2022 SAVINGS - 4.126M

So yes some 2.6M dead in 2023 (which is easily manageable)

I'm really sick of the resources we pump into the defensive line because of this rotation.  This is money that should go to strengthen other positions.  Pick your 6 guys, pay them, and move on.

Need a rotation there, I dont really like how heavy of a rotation that the bills employ.  But that is what they are doing now.  They are picking their guys, paying thm and moving on.
