Agree with your post. They haven’t clicked like they did last year but they’ve been more than fine thanks for a much improved defense to this point…. And their running game is much better. Davis has been a non factor after a really solid rookie season. Didn't Davis drop a TD, it was a difficult catch but one normally made in the NFL

Josh was mediocre (or bad) vs. Pitt, played so so vs. Miami and average vs. Houston. I know the expectations are high and funny that we can nitpick, but I'm waiting for a game like those last year vs. Seattle, Denver or SF. Forecast Monday is great vs. Tennessee and want to see an air show...... My Mind Boggles. Racking up 35, 43, 40, and 38 points isn't enough for you? 40 points vs the Texans and 35 vs Miami isn't dominating? How do you define "dominating?" 1
chris heff
Last year it took a few games for the offense to start clicking, I think it was after the Titans loss. Maybe it was because of no training camp and no preseason, maybe not. I just have a feeling that the offense is going to get into that same groove, when that happens look out.
34-78-83
I’m just not going to worry about the offense that has averaged over 30 per game and had to play in 30mph gusts, 25 mph gusts and 2 torrential rain storms in 4 of its 5 games played. 2 1

But I agree that this offense still hasn't played their best ball yet. Don Otreply
41 minutes ago, BigBuff423 said: I don't agree with OP's take and mainly because I don't think the focus is on scoring a bunch of points and trying to outlast the other team's Offense. I think the focus is on a better balance. Balance isn't necessarily 50/50 Run-Pass, but balance is in the efficacy of the running game in support of the obvious passing game based Offense Daboll runs. So, the numbers will look different than they did last year. For example, when Sal Capaccio shares his weekly updates of rankings by the Bills Offense and Defense, it can appear the Offense isn't quite producing because it so often has to do with yards, yards per play, etc. But the Defense is SOOOOO good that the Offense is often going a shorter distance and on fewer downs, so the T.O.P. might be down or the total yards might be less, but the efficiency shared between Offense-Defense-Special Teams brings a coalesced unit together that doesn't have huge numbers except when you consider the most important part of any team evaluation in sports: scoring. Highest scoring Offense with the lowest scoring Defense. I don't know if the Bills can sustain that kind of statistical domination over 17 games, but the fact we're just shy of 1/3 of the way through the season suggests, it's more than just a blip on the radar of this team's greatness. This,^^^ also teams have a year plus of tape on Josh and Dabol’s offensive tendencies, so changing things up is a requirement if we are to keep our opponents on their heels as it were, and that’s exactly what we are doing, ya can’t just do the same stuff every single game and not expect your opponents to catch on, and counter what your doing. Will we see “air raid” games? Yup, sure will, but not in every game like last season. In this case change is good, 😁👍 Go Bills!!! 3
Billsfan1972
I know about the wind & the raid, but they sputtered opening day and last year obliterated Miami through the air. Josh was okay that game, as was the offense and yep a 35-0 shut out. But then I'd say look at what others have done vs. Miami (particularly Tampa Bay). Pitt really ground them to a halt. The offense has been very good, but nowhere near their best so far. Yes nitpicking, but I see significant room for improvement & as for the defense, not sure they could be playing any better 1
ProcessAccepted
I'm good with the mode they are in now for a bit longer. The Defense is carrying their share of the load and we are still putting up a lot of points. I'd like to offense to peak playoff time. Seen too many teams fall off as the season progresses. MrSarcasm
Some of you crazies on this board need to do basic math and temper your expectations. Not every player on offense can have a great week every week. Below is a very timid layout of what stats would make each player have a 'good week.' Allen-300 yrd and 3 TD Singletary/Moss- 60+ yards each 2 TDs Diggs- 100 yards 1 TD at least Sanders- 80 yards 1 TD Beasley- 8 catches 80 yards Knox- 80 yards 1 TD Davis- 50 yards 1 TD Do the math unless Allen throws for 400 yards and spreads it out to only the 4 WRs /TE perfectly and doesn't throw to any RBs will each player hit that yardage. Furthermore the team would have to score 6 TDs a game, as well as perfectly spread out again, but then we would be seeing threads of 'Whats up with Bass'

Some team is going to absolutely be obliterated soon. Maybe this weekend. Amazing that we've face-stomped four teams in a row with two huge shut-outs and have the largest point differential by a large margin, and we're still looking for us to obliterate someone?

NO is an absolute enigma of a team, a big number of their starters are on IR or suspended due to various disciplinary issues. The NO team we're seeing right now is basically Payton winning by making chicken salad with beaks and gizzards. The NO team the Bills will likely face in the end of November will look quite different on offense and defense than the NO team you see now. They also seem to blow hot/cold, winning decisively against teams that are much better than them on paper and then inexplicably dropping the next game against a substandard opponent. I frankly have no idea what to expect and Sean Payton (despite having one of the most punchable faces in football) is a great coach who really maximizes what he has to work with. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was one of those 'huh?!' losses the Bills had this season.

Yes, these wins have been decisive, but the offense does not seem to have the same consistency, and Allen's completion percentage so far has been down. Can't dismiss that. I'm not saying Josh is not playing great, I think he os, but that completion percentage has to contribute to the offense slowing down. Josh started slow, the oline was a hot mess early, and there have been some bad weather games that I don't think are conducive to optimum passing stats. KC game, we went for big chunk plays and it worked. You can have a lower completion percentage when you're getting over 20 yards a completion (ridiculous). McD wants the team to build towards peaking in the playoffs (I'm sure you know.) 1

SMH I dunno that the post was as much about unsatisfied, as it was pointing out that we're winning decisively without shifting past 4th gear. Atleast that's how I took it. There's a game down the road where we'll need that extra gear on offense, even if its not till the playoffs. I'd rather have it and not need it, than vice versa. Oddly enough the team I see needing it against the most is LAC, that offense is humming along. Could even be a home AFCCG

It is clicking in the sense of getting chunk plays, but don’t think they are even close to their median, let alone ceiling. That’s why you hear Josh being disappointed and want to “clean stuff up”— even after last game. I have seen this offense in a real groove, and it is methodical and elite (think San Fran game last year)— and I think that is the type of offense that is built for consistent Success, including in the playoffs. i think we will see it soon, as they are still trying to piece together all the new wrinkles and personnel packages. But when they hit on it, they will be impossible to stop.
